i have a 2000 maxima and my b&m shifter has like almost 3/4 - 1inch clearance in 1-3-5 gears. Maybe you guys installed it where the bend near the pivot ball was towards the front? I installed it where it kinda bends back.

 

No offense purekoryo, but even org members ought to be smart enough to install the lever correctly. I think if you DID try to install it backwards, it'd be pretty obvious. I'm betting it would not even be POSSIBLE to reach 1st or 3rd gears with the lever installed backwards.
