For those who have paid or made the deposit, what spring rates did you choose? I'm on the fence between 8/6 and 9/7.

hey guys, i'm really sorry but I had to have some emergency dental work done over the weekend which put me out $400. I will not be able to come up with the $700 by the end of this month so I cannot participate in this GD. Sorry if this causes any problems, but the only way I will be able to participate is if I can pay after Dec. 15, the next time I get paid.

still reading through all the posts, but if this is still available, all I can say is I AM IN.

EDIT: done reading. Going to pay today or tomorrow, since I still have to decide between 8/6 or 9/7 spring rate. Btw, any idea what spring rate would compare to Tein H. Techs? (still doing some research on that).

I had to put the dental bill on my credit card and my credit limit isn't enough to cover what I already have on it plus an additional $700 or else that is what I would've done.

Stock SE springs, at least on the gen4, are somewhere around 120lb/in front, 200lb/in rear... I have the calculations somewhere, but I think I lost them.

I think, anyway. Progress coilovers for the gen4 are 350/250 F/R default, but having ridden in Cheston's setup with 450/350 F/R, the handling was excellent and the ride was very good considering how low he had it. I think I've ridden in JIC FLT-A2 setups as well but it's been a long time, the default 506/337 F/R setup was quite good as well.

I got the 9/7 as I am more into handling then comfort. But 1max2nv have 9/7 and he said it is comfortable as well.

what i meant was that those spring rates with these coilovers would ride similarly to the stock se springs. and that's just based on what was written in the first gd. but hey you learn something new everyday.

Man I am really on the fence about 8/6 or 9/7. I care a lot about performance too, but .3 sec in an AutoX three times a year isn't worth a bone jarring ride every single day to work to me. I am however still on the list for 9/7.

Thanks for the info brianw,
Sounds like even with the 450/350 Chestons car handled pretty well. Was the handling much better in the 506/337 set-up you were in compared to Chestons?

are you sure? i thought that if we put a deposit down, that would lock in the price and we would be able to pay the rest later.

for myself, i was planning on putting down half now and half later.

mark240-can you clarify?

I'm not undertanding the confusion. Posts 108 and 113 by mark240 seem pretty clear to me. Crib notes----Deposit by 11/18, full pay by 11/25. DO NOT wait until the last minute. Prices are going UP.

Post 108
Ok we will set the deadline for payment in 2 weeks by 11/25/2004. However, minimum selling prices of D2’s will be jumping any day now, we must have all sales locked in within a week with at least a $100 deposit by 11/18/2004. I hope that is understandable.

People can start sending full payments and deposits now. Please do not wait until the last minute though because the D2 minimum selling price is rising soon and we do not want the distributor to cut us off of future sales. What is sold and paid for is sold and paid for but coming very shortly (most likely within a week), we will not be allowed to sell these coilovers below a small % under MSRP

Post 113
The $100 deposit will lock your name into the group buy so you are gauranteed a set at this price. It will help out people that need a couple weeks to come up with the money. All deposits must be received by 11/18/2004. Full payments must be received by 11/25/2004 so that we can pay for the coilovers. The deposits are enough to place the order with the manufacture on 11/18/2004.
