you guys need to relax no one here is trying to steal your money.

the first hood is ready to ship out. one thing though, the there are no holes for the hood struts. so whoever is fine with that im me. jdmmax51

let me know so he can get the hoods out. the hood strut mounting points it is recommnedto use old struts becuase they are weaker. the area has been reinforced but if the hood strut is to strong it may still smash through the frame. because of the current weather conditions been really cold in cali down here in so cal they are giveing extra time for hte resin to sure properly.

i have no doubt everything is trying to get done as quickly and perfectly as possible. as far as i know JDMMAX doesnt have a bad reputation. as for me, i would rather wait a little more time and get the hood as promised. custom work rarely goes smooth and perfect. ill wait for the hood holes

Our hoods have a downward curve to them. Not much, but enough to put an angle onto the locking area of the pins.
heres an old link to some of the warnings regarding these locks....

hmmmmm ok then ill take the first hood then.
hahahahaah its all fine with me cause i am not planning on using hood struts anyways. i like my hood prop just fine and it has not gotten in my way.

i was told that the area has been reinforced and i accually seen the hood it is reinforced but fiber glass still pretty brittle. and im not sure i want to take the risk of putting a hood strut there.

remeber guys do not use new hood struts they are just to strong for the fiber glass frame. need to use some old struts. just another precuation if hood struts are installed and you try closing the hood and its making wierd noises. i would not use the struts.

oh i think he mentioned that oblongshapes you are getting the first hood then he gave me a bunch of e-mail addresses and names. that was the only one i remember.

im thinking i dont want to take the chance of damaging the fiberglass. i dont think ill be using the hood struts either.

I am confused as to how a hood strut would damage the hood. If it had reinforced holes for the hood struts to go then how would this hurt the hood. The fourth gen hood struts are very weak even when new. even if the hood struts did not work out what would you have to loose? They would just pop out of the fiberglass and you would have to use a prop? Their is no chance of actually damaging the visible part of the hood....correct?

Wrong!
If you think the hood struts are weak, you obviously havent felt the weight of the hood unmounted.
Their stronger then you think.
If you use them, the CF hood is light enough and thin enough to where the hood struts will provide enough resistance to crack the hood.

well they told me not to use newer struts. hood strut apply constant force against the hood. now the mounting points for the hood struts is still fiber glass not metal. you can crack fiber glass. now the fiber glass frame has been reinforced so the mounting holes should hold. but there is always a chance it may not.

i am passing information alone as i get it.

think of it this way take a strip off pliewood. set a strut down on the ground and compress the strut with the wood. you will see the strip of wood will start to bend. if there is to much force on the piece of wood what will happen??? the wood will give and the strut will punch a hole through the piece of wood.

now apply this example to the frame of the cf hood. just something i thought up.

heh, from what I collect there were delays and they werent shipped out till the 10th, and they only shipped two.

Now I looked up DHL's (thats who they ship with) chart for approx. delivery times from different states to another. They ship from La area, and Im in Pittsburgh.. Thats a 5 day ship time according to the chart.
It should have been here by Sat, so ill see if it comes tomorrow, if not, then im going to have to start wondering WTF is going on.
