booo! too late again.

Just to resolve a matter i posted here.

The boot fits great, though it is different then stock, in that the button is velcro instead to fit it over the shift stalk.

It is a snug fit, but it does fit right, and its working out great so far.

Personally, I'd take velcro over the button any day of the week. We don't use snaps WHATSOEVER. Velcro gives more ability for adjustment and doesn't look so cheap.

Sorry, must have missed that. There are no instructions, actually, it's so easy it hurts. Just take off the armrest by removing the screws mounting the lid to the hinges, remove the top part of the lid by undoing the screws visible on the underside of the lid after opening it, put the leather between the top and the bottom pieces and reinstall.

I figured it was along those lines - however, I want it to be extremely tight/snug. I feel if I simply wrap it around and screw the bottom back on, it won't be stretching the leather tight.

 

Hi,

you can always glue it bit by bit from the underside - which is exactly what an interior shop would do. This way it will be guaranteed to be tight.

Just curious how do you replace the ebrake boot? I haven't looked in the manual. I will do that now. But is there a write on this? (for a 95 of course)

Also, the inserts for the door. Exactly how do they fit. Do you take the old ones out?

Ok, I found the side screws. Just prying out that top piece with the ashtray kind of scares me. Plastic always tends to break on me.

Looking to dress up the interior now that its spring, so Im getting a new shift **** and e-brake handle. Im going with the aluminum type, so id like to match the leather at least close to looking "clean". I dont have leather interior in my car, but of course my shift boot is black. I guess what im wanting is some pics (if you can) of some shift/brake boots that are either black or titanium in color with the quad stitching. The shift **** will be the old style Nissan logo so its red and blue. And then my brake handle will be a clear/white/aluminum color so I dont really know where to go with that. If you can just show me a photo of some stitching that would look good on some leather swatches I would really really appreciate it!!!

I'm stupid.......just found the answer to my own question!! Newbie question but will the Ebrake boot fit 5.5 gens with Auto?? I assume it will but you never know.

 

I sure will let you know, so far I don't have anything. It's probably slower because of Easter.

I'm not too familiar with the US brands, but any automotive interior leather protectorant will do.

 

I think you should match the main color of the interior with the leather. If your in terior is dark gray, go for charcoal. If it's light gray, go for titanium leather. Then I would use red and blue for thread on the shift boot and white and silver on the ebrake boot to match the respective handles.

I think it would look REALLY custom with the different threads on both pieces and the same leather underneath those stitches.

Titanium leather is basically light gray leather. I'm not sure what you mean by white leather at the seams, but unless you're looking for a two-tone boot, it's not really possible. You don't want to overdo it on the stitching though so too many colors at once I don't really recommend.

Okay, lets see if I can explain this to where its understandable

Anyway, can you do the following...Take a white leather shift boot (and e-brake boot) and then where the seams are, run a strip of Light Gray leather down the seam on top of the seam and then a smaller strip of Black leather on top of the Gray. then stitch the red, blue, white and silver into the leather. Can that be done? Ill pay extra if need be, and place my order asap!

Have you had anyone ship their door inserts yet so you can fabricate some covers? Do you need just the inserts or the whole door panel? If no one has done so yet, I will look to see how difficult it is to do so.
