I have a '99 Max Cali-Spec with a production date of 9/04/98, would i still order the YG5/CA or the YG4?

 

If your car is a 99 model year, and has CA/NLEV emissions, you should need a YG5/CA. To be absolutely sure, check the emissions diagram on the first page of this thread. If you have that row of 4 O2 sensor circuits, you need the YG5/CA. If you don't, you need the YG4 (but if your y-pipe has a hanger bracket above the flex rather than the yoke back by the cat, then you'll want a YG5 - same as the 4 except we add the bracket).

I've searched the How-To's and via google every way possible, but can't find install instructions. Is it possible to due this on jack stands? And it's just a matter of unbolting the stock from the manifold & cat and installing the new one, right?

I'll be shifting this over to the GD forum on Monday - this really isn't the place for it, but 5th gen forum got excited about discounted y-pipes and I wanted to give y'all the first shot.

We shipped the first big batch out today, covering all the current orders except one, and I'll let that customer know.

We won't be able to ship anything until next Monday because we're moving our warehouse between now and then. [That's why I'm waiting till next week to open this up as an "official" GD.] We'll continue to take orders over the phone, and you might want to get those in before we open this up to the entire org. Its our policy not to charge the CC until we have a part ready to ship so placing an order just gets you a solid place in line.

Is this a jack-stands-in-the-driveway install, or will I need a lift to swap out the Y-pipe? Anyone?

 

Made my order today. Shipping out next week. I should be getting it near the end of the week. I will take lots of pictures! I can't wait. It is going to be an early Christmas for me!

 

It will go much more quickly, easily and perhaps safely under a lift, ESPECIALLY if there's much rust on the stock fasteners.

Most shops will not install due to removing an emissions part = illegal. Get some jack stands and do it yourself.

 

So look when you get out of class and quit being lazy.
