Waiting is painless, we will not charge your CC till we have your part ready to ship.

You can probably find something out there to listen to, but we don't do sound clips. No way to tell how loud the car is because there's no volume reference, and neither the recording or playback devices can come close to capturing the low-frequency sound. You listen to a clip, and like it, or compare two clips and decide which one you like best... but its meaningless at best and misleading at worst because there is no possibility that it will sound like the car.

I'm sort of embarrassed to say that I don't have a good picture of the tip style we're using right now on a car, but if you can use a little imagination, here's a couple of shots that might help:

[Actually this will require a LOT of imagination, these are 95-99 mufflers! I'll get some 00-03 tip pics up in the morning.]

Hey Brian - Those tips resemble the Magnaflow single wall tips.

Part# 35131
7" long
3" dia.
2.5" inlet

So I just have to imagine that the exhaust tips are 0.5" wider than my magnaflows.

We could do something like that on a special order basis, but it wouldn't be a part of this sale or completed this month. You would probably be dollars ahead to order the catback on sale and have the tip replaced with the exact one you like.

Here are some pics of the gen5 muffler tips on my rather dirty 02. The opening is 3". As you can see, we take sort of "purist" approach to this dual tip design. Single-wall 304 stainless, slightly angle cut, no flourishes.

Sorry I didn't see this till late today. We've got 00-03 b-pipes but we're out of mufflers. More are in production and they should be back in stock next week, I'll check on the schedule tomorrow.

Sorry Greg, although we don't have a y-pipe for the 04+ Maxima right now, a header/y-pipe project for the 6th gen is coming up. In the meantime, there is our very effective 04+ catback, which I suspect makes more power (10+) on that car/engine than a y-pipe does (about 7-9). The stock y-pipe design is not terribly bad, but the stock catback is. [And the stock manifolds are a bloody fright, c'mon headers!]

Yes, each of the tips is 3" - larger than that would be a bit over the top in a dual tip arrangement.

Ask any question you want, we all started as beginners. The Cattman mufflers (sometimes called a muffler/rear section because there is a section of tubing connected to the muffler) are designed to be interchangeable with the stock muffler, meaning that its a simple bolt on.

Look at the catback pics at the beginning of this thread and you'll see the muffler has a tubing section attached and at the end of the tube is a flange. That flange will bolt up to either a stock b-pipe or one of our performance b-pipes, and the fit is right either way. No welding, cutting, etc.

I'd be very surprised if we didn't have a b-pipe for your car on Friday, but I wouldn't wait any longer. These are going fast and we could run out for a few days (more are in production now).

Just give us a call and order whatever you need - the backorders actually help me plan how many more parts we need to satisfy the GD sales.

Any GD parts that aren't in stock now should be available before the end of next week. Its painless to wait since you don't pay till we ship.

Bump for a great maxima.org sponser...Brian has a very strong mutual relationship with the org with his great customer service and quick shipping....I highly recommend any new org members to give him a try...you don't even have to initially buy something from him...just give him a call and ask a few questions and he'll take his time to help you make the right choice...you can't say that much about warpspeed ...your shopping experience with him will not be a disappointing one...!!

oh yeah, if anybody is interested in how the cattman exhaust sounds like...download the clip from my signature and you will see how awesome the exhaust really is...installation is a breeze since cattman exhaust bolts right up...all necessary hardware is included as well...

for Brian!

hate to nitpick here, but it's $1 more to buy the full catback for a 99 than it is to buy the components separately. Thought i'd point that out.

Also, I've got a cattman stainless calispec y-pipe, and i love it. Good quality stuff

What size is the tip on the muffler? 95-99

Also, do you accept the 10% discount coupon I won at the MCC meet a while back.

We're getting ready to do a 3" catback prototype for the 00-03. If that works out well, we'll go into production. Price will be around $700.

All of our 95-99 and 00-03 catback exhausts come in two large boxes. You should have received both tracking #s by email. I've tracked them, and there seems to be an issue with the b-pipe and other part you ordered (both in one box). DHL is looking into it now and we'll follow up with you by email when we know more.

It may seem larger because the muffler is sort of small, but the single tip on our 95-99 isn't that big - about 3" I think. That's pretty conservative and we wouldn't want to put a smaller tip on a production pipe. Like I say, though, you could replace the tip with any style you like.
