I got it a couple days ago. Today is the perfect installation day. I'm about halfway into it. It's easy!! For the most part......and I can't wait to hear the sound.

I WILL be posting videos of how it looks now, and how it sounds!!!

I JUST installed it and took it for a "test drive" aka 2x speed limits..

You feel the gains........the sound is RIDICULOUSLY loud and it doesn't sound like a family sedan, its so fast, tires spin so much more if you floor it at 0mph...

The Install...
2 hours
Cost me $0
Overall easy if you know what your doing..

one more question, is the cone filter rechargeable/reusable, or does it have to be replaced every so often?

BrainDfect, please provide us with your email address and we will email you a PayPal invoice. And for the performance filter, yes it can be cleaned. You can use any filter cleaning kit. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Sorry we only have this available for the 6th gens. Unfortunately Fujita does not produce an intake system for any other Maxima generations. I have inquired before and it seems as though they do not have any plans in the near future to do so. Perhaps if there is enough interest then we can set something up with Fujita for the other generations.

However, we do sell the high flow performance Fujita filters only. They come in 2.5", 2.75", 3.00" and 3.5" inlet sizes. We sell them for $35.99 plus shipping but we can sell it for $35.99 with free shipping to org members within the lower 48 states. These filters can fit on any other brand piping. Please let us know if you are interested.

He wasnt sure, but mentioned you can sometimes apply it on to help with filtering dirt and whatnot...anyways so have you head anything, whats your opinion, anyone else...?

the oil is for after you clean it.. probably wouldn't do much to just spray it on periodically... just pick up a K&N cleaning kit.. it'll come with instructions and a can of the oil too.

The filters come pre-oiled so there is no need to apply oil.

Like what Ritz said, the K&N cleaning kit will work when its time to clean the filter.

Good looks everyone on the reply's, thanks for the advice...last question is, how often are you cleaning your filter, or replacing it? I live in New England, where sand and salt on the roads is a common thing like water after a rainstorm, anyways, I plan on checking it occaisionally throughout my oil changes, but any advice is greatly appreaciated.

also, for those of you having questions about warranty issues. I just dropped my car off this morning at the dealership to get the front struts and cracks on my sidewall Goodyears checked, tech that always looks at my car mentioned no worries, an example he gave was if say something small like a light goes that's not covered, Im also assuming sensors as well, cause they're a G apiece!! These are issues pertaining to "as a result of" putting the aftermarket part on. We all save the orignal pieces anyways, so if you do f*ck something up, just switch it and go on with getting it fixed.

my .02 cents from a newbie

Have a few questions...are there any proven gains with the intake? (dynoed?) Or is this a sound/show intake? I'm in the market for an intake but not sure what to get with all the different intakes available. Or are all the aftermarket intake systems pretty even now? Is there a comparison somewhere?

Yes, there are proven gains. A member here, Tek-Niq, was the first to dyno his car with the Fujita cold air intake and was able to get some significant hp gains.

Here is one of his dynos:
[img]http://www.6thgenmaxima.org/images/fujitadyno.gif[img]

There is a poll here on the 6th gen forum about intakes and Fujita is the top choice.

This group deal is for the limited edition wrinkled black finish and is only available through us.

think I asked somewhere else also, but to get consistent/lasting performance increase from the intake, the ECU needs to be reprogrammed or flashed every week?

A few have reported that the power seems to go back to stock after a while. Unfortunately we do not have actual data that proves this one way or the other.

I have this intake in my car and I can definitely still feel the power gain... especially at higher rpms.

I slightly felt the same way, however I came to realize that it was only because I was so used to it that it didn't stand out anymore....

I can still feel the power gain after 5 months, or maybe makes it feel faster =P

If any 6th genner is in the market for an intake, and looking at this, do not hesitate. From first-hand experience, this is excellent. You can FEEL the gains, and they aren't no ***** gains, they are very significant. Especially on the highway. It will surprise you on the highway. The sound of the intake is crazy. Ever since I got it, everyone has gone CRAZY over and keeps asking me what it is. They do NOT believe it is just an intake. Well, it is. That is it. This is all you will need. Buy this. You also get some extras. RideTuner ships fast & is a great guy to deal with. Get the wrinkled black finish, too. You'll be more than happy that you did.

I still have to record some videos & put them in this post. I will do that as soon as I can get my camera fixed. But, definitely, this is a must!
