I bought a KYO harness (http://www.racinglab.com/kyoplheduwih.html) and modified it with the diode (to avoid modifying your harness or the one on the car). I have done this before and can see that the diode is in correctly as the driving lights are on when on bright (they are wired to go off on bright from the factory). Could the relays be wired in such a way as to cutoff the low beams when the high beams are active (this is my best guess at this point)? Any suggestions?

When putting in the hid in my fogs and headlights would it be a good idea to buy a headlight plug and play Wire Harness??????????

It sounds like you want two things. But from what I gather from reading it, if you do not want the low beams to be on with the high beams, remove the inline diode from the KYO harness.

You would need just the Plug and Play for the fog lights is all

No, I just want the high and low beams to be on at the same time. I wired in a diode and that did not work. Since I wired in the diode before it plugs into the HID harness I was wondering if that could be why it did not work correctly? Is there some place on the HID harness I should wire it in that would work?

Like I said above, I know the diode is sending the signal to low and high beams because the driving lights are staying on when on high beam (the low beams are not staying on).

The only thing I can figure is that the low beam relay (on the HID harness) is kicking off irrespective of the diode. So my question is: where on the HID harness do I install the diode to make this work? Thanks.

Aye operatic...

I'm interested in some replacement bulbs for my 04 Maxima. I recently replaced them with 10,000K bulbs which looked nice but with a noticeable drop in visibility. I have factory HID's but I wanna get a nice color a bright white with a slight purple tint. Not that deep blue or purple color that screams fast and furious or please officer pull me over... Any suggestions ???

The only thing that is boggling me is that is exactly how we do, we've just bought a small extension harness like your KYO and put the diode in there. So thats why I am not sure why its not working. On top of that I do not have a Maxima to try this out on. We've mainly done it for Mustangs and F-Series and Ram trucks. So I am actually at a loss as to what to tell you.

I cannot vouch for other HID bulbs but as for our own, there is not a huge light output difference between 4300k and 12000k. To illustrate my point, here is a comparison picture of the two on the same car. 12000k left - 4300k right

But for the most part I'd actually suggest 10,000k for a bluish white with a slight hint of purple, but that is what you already have :/

Yea, it should work. I'm happy with the kit either way though. I'll keep fiddling with it and let you know if I figure it out. I appreciate your willingness to help. Thanks.

Yea. I've done this a couple of times before. Plus, you can tell you got it right because the driving lights will stay on when you're on high beam. However, my bright is not working on the driver side now (with the diode out). I disconnected and reconnected it and it still didn't work. Then I switched the bulbs from side to side and the problem stayed on the driver side. I think I may have a bad high beam ballast. Not sure if this diode thing caused the problem or not. I've PM'd Operatic about a solution.

We don't carry halogen bulbs. But our 3000k bulbs are pretty yellow if that is what you want. About as yellow if not more than the Lexus fog lights you normally see.
sorry for bringing up an old post but what (k) are the bulbs in the top pic? 6000, 8000, or 10k?

Thanks

Just like Revs2Hard said, H3 3k. But so you know, you will have to modify your fog light housing to fit a regular H3 HID bulb. This just involves sticking a screwdriver into your fog light housing and pushing the metal cut off plate forward a bit to fit the H3 HID bulb.

Hey partner, you ordered custom colors, so they take around 9-13 business days before they get to your door step. We'll keep you updated though.

If you have factory HIDs, the best we can do is get you replacement bulbs in different colors. As for them being brighter, they would be the same brightness.

But as for your fog lights, we can make em even brighter than your factory HID low beams as we have 50w ballast. For reference value, your OEM ballast are 35w.

Yes they are digital like all of our ballast. And you will not have modify your housing to have them fit

You sure can, buy a toggle switch at an auto parts store and hook that up to our relay harness.
