My front is just the stillen lip.

Yeah, that included paint. But after about a week I started noticing just how ****ty a job they did. There are streaks on the kit. SOme places have drips, it dripped into the inside of the cabin (the paint). And both skirts have these grease marks or something that looks EXACTLY like fingerprints (hmmmmm?!?!) it seems that they didnt let the kit dry enough so they just grabbed it with the sticky fingers and now I cant get those damn spots out with anything. I'm not about to go have them repaint it cause its only visible REALLY up close..

Oh well, you get what you pay for. I asked them to do it in 2 days when I had them paint it. I gave my car to them on thursday, and got it back on friday. Just so I can go to "the races" on saturday. I made a big mistake. I should have let them take their time and not do a sloppy job. What did I expect for 2 days work??? Yeeesh. At least the paint matches!

This may sound stupid, but would it look stupid without a front. I mean I scrape with stock on anything more than a gradual driveway unless I go reaaaal slooow. I know a guy in my town that will paint the thing cheap (are the pieces already black like my car?), but I would guess installation couldn't be a DIY job?

It wouldnt look too appealing. Thats the truth. The side skirts were designed to be matched to a stillen lip.

How do you scrape so much? Are you lowered alot?

The pieces are not black, they are gray (primered). The installation CAN be a DUI job, but it might be a little hard for non-handy people. You need to drill holes in your body so that might be a problem.

Thanks for the info! I don't scrape alot, but since I do on the "bump-type" driveways if I don't drive really slowly, that's why I'm concerned about hanging down much lower. I'm 1.5 inches lower (tokiko/eibach). Is the Stillen lip just that skinny strip across the bottom ($350), or are there lights involved (looked on the site and only shows it on the car, doesn't show the actual piece alone?

Like smoothmax said, its $170 brand new from avalon.

Yes its just the skinny strip across the bottom of the front. Look at "Craig Mack" his car has the stillen lip, if you look at some of his posts you can probably see it.

Paint service available on kits

Update: Paint service also available.

To help fellow org members keep the cost down on the body kit, I am willing to sell my kit painted. I have a small share in a body shop, and I can have these painted at a great price. The price will vary depending on the color, steps in the paint process and what rear valance you are interested in. The price should be around 200 to 250 for the complete paint job. We will use dupont paint. The kit will come pre drilled and ready to install, you can install them your self if you have the ability to do so or just have a professional shop do it for you. The only part that I think would be hard to install your self would be the one piece rear valance. The other pieces are very easy to do your self.

On another note, the shop is going to finally have some time to work on my projects. They were working on some BMW and 300zx parts. I'll take my camera and take some pics as soon as there is something worth while.

Thanks!

bro you keep getting better and better. great job and ideas. i just have a couple of questions,
1) whats the status on the 2-piece 95-96 rear valence?
2) In your future projects are you planning on doing any type of front lip/front bumper replacement?
3) will the paint match exactly to anybodies body color?

thanks

Re: Re: Paint service available on kits

libo74:

Thanks for the props! I've had the loaner car at the shop since this past Monday, but since it took me longer to get one, they started working on some other projects (300zx and BMW) and I lost my place in line. They should be done with these cars soon, and will start working on my pieces.

On another note I don't think we will ever make just a front lip for the 4th gen, since we work with fiberglass I don't think it will take the abuse. What we might do is make full bumper replacement for the 4th gen. But that will be in the distant future.

About the paint, it should match exactly with your paint, that's the reason there are codes. What we could also do is have people ship me their gas cover and use that to match the paint with.

Best regards!

Just got my sidekirts in today and I am definetly satisfied with the quality and looks of the product. It fits like a glove, no joke. All I need now is the rear valence and I'm done. Thanks again for the great service Jose. Oh, and I just want to confirm that it's between $200 and $250 for the rear valence and the paint together.

No problem , and thank you for giving a good review on my kit!

Yes I can get you your two piece rear valance shipped and painted for about $200 to $250, I just need your paint code and I'll ask the paint shop for the quote.

Enjoy!

i know there are a few places to look but the only one that i'm sure of is in the engine bay towards the back firewall on the passenger side. there is a silver plate that has many differebt numbers. but there is a three letter code towards the middle that is the paint code.

hopefully someone else will come in and post a more detailed description.

Yup, youre exactly right. The paint code is on the firewall behind the engine to your left. The code is a 3 character description (such as KH3, BT1) Next to another character which is your interiior trim.

Also just look at the metal plate right above "VQ30(DE)" for the easiest way to find the code.

SiMpLyMaXedOuT: I really wouldn't recommend you use the one piece rear valance on a lowered Maxima, I would recommend that you consider using the two piece rear valance. You can view the pics in the gallery section of my site at: ttp://www.ionicdynamics.com/Galery.html

pro: Yes they are still available The shipping will depend on what kind of rear valance you are interested in. Please drop me a note at ionico@hotmail.com with you zip code, and what kind of rea valance you are interested in.

Thanks!

The donar car is at the shop. They said it would only take them two to three days to mold the 97-99 pieces to the 95-96 bumper. As soon as they have some time they will work on mine

I will shot you an email as soon as I have something!

Thanks!

SimplyMaxedOut, I am thinking of getting the ionic sideskirts, but if you want I will buy your stillens off of you. I just need sideskirts.. my front lip with rear valances just sucks.

My side skirts will look good with anything

I have an update for the 95-96 two piece rear valance for lowered maximas, they started to work on them today and they are comming along just fine. I expect to have the first batch out by this Thursday.

Thanks!

2 piece rears

they just stop at the end of the bumper before the curve or what? just wondering since i would like to get these but my car is lowered and i like the one piece for the 97-99. what would the cost be for the sides and rear(1 or 2 piece) plus shipping to 60061 or 60089. email me at furbiss112@aol.com later.

I'll try and get some more pics of the two piece rear valance today. I'm going to spend most of the day working with the shop on the 95-96 rear valances.

Thanks!

Update :)

Update:

OK guys here is some info about the 95-96 two piece rear valance. The car that we were using to mold the pieces had been hit in the past in it's rear end, that's the reason why the pieces had fitment issues. The good news is that they are 90% completed, I'm going to get another 95-96 maxima to work on this Monday and they should be ready by Wednesday (they have to prep the prototypes, molds and so on).

Thanks to all for your patience!
