2 or 3 Gauge Pod?

What does everyone want? I would prefer a 3.

You can also get one from www.oem-car-parts.com for $37.24 plus shipping. I'd send in mine, but I already have a gauge pod mounted to it.

gauges

Thanks for the link Tannman!!

I think we need more people to voice their opinion on the 2 vs. 3. Personally I feel that the three is a good choice because its better to have an extra gauge than not enough.

3!! Ya know. The Three stooges. The Three Amigos. Threes company. Threes a crowd. Three strikes yer out. Three wise men. "We have three sizes"

Have I mentioned it should be three? Cause two is too few.

If we decide 3, is everyone still in?

Cool, I was talking to Dave Burnette about the price on the A pillar (if you want send me a PM) and he advised me to talk to Ben from the Altima board. Ben has just finished up a goup deal with Lo-tek and he mentioned that they are great products, he also stated that shipping is usually about $6.00. As CBass69187 mentioned once we ship the pillar they will tell us which size gauges fit, and that we need 20 of each pod either 2 guages or 3 gauges. Ben also gave me a good idea and meantioned that we can send him a few small pieces that cost 1-2 dollars from DaveB for the color matching.

I just took care of you guys. Contacted Lo-Tek and placed an order for 60 gauge pods. He needs the factory pods which I already ordered from nissan (which were dang expensive) and will be shipping to Lo Tek for them to match it. We contracted a deal to also produce new 95-99 pillars that will be a complete pillar instead of the pods as autometer makes. According to Lo-Tek they should be done September. Color will also be matched also. CustomMaxima.com already commited to 30 95-99 pods and 30 2000+ pods so they will start production as soon as they receive the factory pillars. Any questions just ask.
Thanks,
Greg

Yeah, manufacturers would rather deal with a dealer that buys them up front then with 20 individual customers. We will start to take orders once they have been shipped to us.

This is great news! Thanks to Greg for helping us out. Now back to big question: 2 or 3 pods?

My take: if you have only 2 gauges but 3 pods, an empty pod looks weird. If you have 3 gauges and 2 pods, you could attach another pod (let's see if Lo-Tek will make a separate pod that we can add if we like). I agree it may not look that great to have two flush pods and one add-on, but it might help accomodate everyone.

I will run the that idea by them and see if they can make a 2 or 3 pod version. It may be hard on the 95 maximas because they have the tweeter on the pillar which will be covered with 3 gauges.

Oh yeah, you would think that I would know the 5th gen maximas have that tweeter. You think someone who spends their entire day with Maximas should know everything about them.

But if I start to dream at night about getting attacked by Altezzas and Diamond Cut Bumper Lights then I am going to have to retire.

Questions....

What BRAND gauges are you planning on getting? Do the regular Autometer gauges such as Ultra-Lite and Phantom light up? I know the Autometer Cobalt and Lunar series do, but they are MONEY!

If I go ANALOG
----------------
I'm leaning towards the ELECTRIC Cobalt series from Summit:
1) Pyrometer temperature 0-1600*F ~$160
2) Fuel Pressure 0-100psi ~$200
3) Oil Pressure 0-100psi ~$190

I also like the look of the ELECTRIC Phantom Gauges.

If I go DIGITAL
---------------
1) Summit A/F ~$27.95
2) Summit Oil Pressure ~$32.95+12.95 sender
3) Nordskog Fuel Pressure 15-100psi ~$49.95+sender

Anybody know of something better in the 2-1/16" size?

What about 60mm sizes such as Apexi, HKS, etc...? Any links/pics?

Is it too late to get in on this ??? I am interested in a 3 gauge pod. I have a 2k2, with black leather, I believe the pillar is gray though. Let me know if its on for me, and what you need from me. Thanks.

Update

Greg just received the STOCK pillars from Nissan, so he's about to mail them off to Lo-Tek.

Hopefully, once Lo-Tek gets them they can help us decide on what size gauges will fit and if a 3-pod will work with the OEM tweeter.

Factory gauge pods have been sent to Lo-Tek for molds to be made. In approx 2 weeks I will receive prototypes to test fit. According to Lo-Tek their production schedule allows the finished product to be complete the beginning of October. I know the wait sucks but look at it from my view point I have to pay for them all now but don't see them till October.

In two weeks I will need the following maximas to test fit the gauges. If you live anywhere Connecticut email me and we can meet up to test fit.
Thanks,
Greg
