So is this deal, like an ongoing thing, or is this price only temporary? I don't have money for them now, but will soon!!

I emailed him, and he is still welcoming orders. I will close the thread when the deal ends.

Hey,
I was going to get these but I read that somebody was having problems with excessive noise after the installation. Can anybody shed some light on this? Should I expect a lot of whirring noise from the dimples and slots after installation?

The noise from the front slots is getting really annoying.
Did you have this issue when you installed these rotors?

driven almost 700 miles, since the install. brakes are doing fine. the wirring noise has fadded a lot in the rear and is no longer in the front ones. i am still scared to brake really hard. i don't want to mess up these babies... overall i think for the amount of money they are awesome. plus i washed the car almost 2 weeks ago, and there is hardly any brake dust

UPDATE:
I was also one of the folks complaining about the noise.
3 weeks since the install, the noise is completely gone. Under EXTREMELY hard braking, that 'taka-taka' noise will return but during such times, one should rather worry about avoiding the crash rather than the noise...

It is now nice and quiet. Slight whirring noise which you cannot hear unless you search for that noise & that too with the windows down. Cheers!

For those that dont get it the 'taka-taka' noise is the sound of your ABS kicking in

It could ALSO be the ABS. I know my car does not have ABS. It is also a 5-speed.

Wow these look great. I just got a set for my Z last night. They are all Brembo rotors. Wood is great he said that he would not get to ship them until 8/29 or 8/30 since he didn't have any ready to ship. He actually shipped them on 8/28. I would recommend him to anyone.

so theese rotors help me brake better on my 3rd gen? I was going to shell out 80 bucks for oem rotors.. but this might be way better than that.. What kind of pds should i use? i feel a judder effect right now as i brake./. it might be caused by my heavey braking and warpped rotors...

i will try to get into contact with himwhen i get into some money.

I know that brakes stop the rotrs, and that the tires are the only thing stopping my max.. so does having these types of rotors help? just curious, since i thought that it was all tires that stopped you.

You will stop much better with these. The slots keep a "fresh" surface on the pads. I have them on my Z with Axxis Metal Matrix pads. Bed everything correctly and you will not believe the stopping power.

Deal Still On

Hey all,

Just got off the horn w/ Wood @ RaceConcepts and thought I'd mention that this deal is still on (for how much longer I didn't ask...)

$123.72 (incl. shipping) for front slotted/dimpled rotors to my work addy and will ship on Wed.

Just a note: he also was offering up cross-drilled as well as the dimpled rotors.

Anyone wanna update the board with their long(er) term satisfaction with these rotors?

Cheers,

Tof

Installed front and rear rotors about 7 weeks ago. There are now about 1500 miles on them. There was an intermittent whirling sound for about 300 miles but now you only hear it when braking really hard. Heard it a little bit in the mountains last weekend when we went to the mountains to see the trees. It was beautiful! We were on winding mountain back roads and the brakes got a real work out. I installed Raybestos Quiet Stop Ceranic pads with the rotors and there was very little brake dust. I think the rotor slotting and low dust pads did the trick. Braking was very good, rotors are quiet and I am very pleased with the deal. As an aside, I stopped to get a sandwich and a cup of coffee. When I came back to the car there was this guy with a Lexus 430 checking out the rotors and asking where I got them. I told him I got all 4 for $236.00 shipped, he looked at me like I was crazy and said you paid $236 each right, no I paid $236 for all 4 of them. He looked at me kind of funny and left. He didn't believe me. Go figure. I would recommend these to anyone.

You could get Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors from iROTORS.com for $125 shipped. Just give them a call at 714.713.3717.

these rotors versus EMC blanks

I was wonder if anyone has any opinion concerning the EMC blanks that are used for this deal for the 2000 and 2001 Maximas.
I was wondering if they are better than Nissan's rotors.

Input appreciated,

Kevin

I don't think it would be too hard to have a better rotor than what comes on the 2000 and 2001s. I have had the EMC rotors on the rear of my 97 I30 for about 2 months and about 1600 miles with no problems. EMCs were installed because they are vented, cross dimpled, slotted and plated. It is my understanding that the rotor Brembo makes for the rears is a solid unvented rotor. Before I would put solid rotors on I would leave the stock rotors on. I checked the EMC quite closely before I installed and they appeared as nice as the Brembos. I am not concerned.

By being stupid! I thought all the rotors were vented, not just the fronts. I guess I did not take notice when I checked them over and installed them. The rears are solid, you are right and I am wrong. I think I'll go have a piece of humble pie.

irotors.com

Hey,
I just went to irotors.com and they would be willing to offer a group deal with just 4 or more people. Check it out.
Which is the best to go with?

2 EMC blanks or 2 brembo cosidering quality and price?

Input appreciated,

Kevinsean

I would check out NOPI as well. They have Brembo front rotors for $32.00 and Brembo rear rotors for $38.00. They are not cross drilled or slotted. That works out to $140 plus shipping for 4 Brembo rotors.
Darn good price, maybe they will also work with you on a group deal.
