I am leaving it how it is for now. I may go back the Infiniti lettering and emblem.

Wow, the front end looks great. Your PICs really bring out the difference. As for the rear, I would suggest you simply put on the Infiniti emblem, right in the center.

Those lights have to be the best single appearance mod available for us anywhere. Very nice.

The Cefiro badge I'd replace with either the stock Infiniti badging or the actual C-E-F-I-R-O badging across the centrepanel for that year (all individual letters).

Yhea, I am not exactly loving the rear end, but I don't think it looks too bad. It won't stay like that forever.

As far as the headlights. I can't believe I did not get them sooner. They are not cheap, but well worth it.

Looks great Mike!

I love the cefiro headlights, I will never own them though. My Wife would NEVER go for it! Maybe after I sell another car. I have my i30 for sale right now, and will be putting my TL up soon as well. I will keep which ever is left. I kinda want to keep my i30 now, the TL is kinda slow. But I must sell one soon!

BTW to all, my 96 i30 5spd with ~105k is up for sale, $6995 firm!

Oh Mikey, I need to speek with you about those clear corners!

Now, just move to a state where the front license plate isn't required. That front plate had just got to go.

Thanks for the comments. keep the I30!!!!
As soon as I get back to Chicago I'll get ahold of you. Won't be back till the 3rd. I'm down in Oklhoma right now.

Already had to learn that the hard way. $150 in tickets for tint and no front plate. I did use the chrome Infiniti frame which helps with the looks a little. Yes, I agree, I wish I did not have to have it.

have you thought about putting black vinyl on the middle part on the rear lights? As soon as it warms up here i'm going to shave the infiniti and the lines and get a piece of viynl put on. If you look at your lights, there is a little line that would divide the lights if they were three parts instead of one. If you wanted to I guess you could put the letters back on but black i's look cleanest with nothing but the infinitilogo on the trunk lid, imo.

I am really not sure what your talking about. Putting vinyl tape over the red plastic part on my trunk? I don't think that would look good at all. It would have to match my dark green body color exactly and it still would look obvious that it was tape.
maybe I am confused about what your thinking of doing.

What I am saying is to get a piece of black graphics not vinyl tape. I also didn't realize your car was green so finding a color to match might be difficult. I don't know if you have seen some of the cefiro's have no middle lights on the rear, and it looks much cleaner, very similar to a '97-00 q45. I will try to find some pics to show you what I'm talking about, or if you have photo shop you could do it.

Also, you would have to apply many coats of wax to the vinyl so that it wouldn't look ricey.

What about doing a trunk lid swap with a Maxima? Wouldn't that be a little easier?

I don't think its been tried, but more that I've thought about it since I posted that, I don't think the cotours of our trunks would allow it to look good, they have a slight concave to them and we don't
as far as a fit, I think it might go.

To make this look best you would need to have the 98-99 tailights because they are slightly curved as opposed to the 96-97 which have the line through the middle. maybe someone could post pics of both styles on the thread for comparison. It would also be possilbe to have some type of material that can be painted, granted you can find this, I am no vinyl pro or anything, and then tape off everything, paint and then enjoy your new a$$ without all that irritating red. When I get done with this, probably early next week, I will borrow a digital camara and show you the final product.

Hey, could you maybe tell me where you got your tints? I really need it before summer comes. I wanna do 20% back(and moonroof), 35% front, and 50% windshield. Would that look any good or should I just get 35% all around except windshield???

I would not touch the windshield. Your in chicago so technically you can't have any thing in the front tinted. A tinted front windshield will just be asking to get pulled over. I would do 20% in the back and 35%-50% in the front. I am going to re-tint my front with 50%. I hope that the lighter tint does not get noticed this time.
IMO, it makes no sense to tint the sunroof. Just close the cover.

Are they really picky about the front plate in illinois? Here in utah it's required but no one has ever said anything to me, even the few times i have been pulled over. I consider front plates the worst looking thing that can happen to a car (within reason )

I got 35% tint on all windows xcept the front winshield and I like it. I would reccomend getting 35% or 20% at the darkest, anything darker and your asking for a ticket. NEVER get your front winshield tinted! If you can even find a shop to do it, I would never get that tinted.

I never had a front plate on my last ride and was never ticketed. I think it has to do with the way my car looks. It's not the most increadible car around, but it does attract attention. I see people driving around all the time w/o them. I eas just sick of getting tickets, so it was off with the tint and on with the plate.

Front end creative thoughts:

For those 96-99 I30 (non-black color) without front license plate
1. You may want to black out the area where license plates goes (the horizontal piece and enclosure) and create a BIG MOUTH look (like the M5's)

2. You may also create Mesh on the lower portion of the front bumper.
