Side Sills
Side Sills
I have a 2001 I-30 and would like to put side sills on. Has anyone done this after you bought the car? Where can you buy them and how difficult is it to put them on, or is it really a dealer job? Thanks for your input.

I thought of this way back when i got mine (in 01') and i went to nissan/infiniti parts supplier, they wanted 600 bux a side. The sides are painted, which is a plus, and are easy to install. However, at 600 bux a side, it is a clear waste of money. Wait up until aftermarket ones are available. Same with the factory spoiler. The aftermarket ones look the same and cost like half the price. Hope this helps...

They may have a little better prices. Or you could use the side skirts from a aftermarket kit for the 5th gen Max. I believe they have a coulple available??

Re: Side Sills
JJ, I did this to my car. it's not too difficult to do. However the installation process does require u to drill holes on the lower body panel to install clips that secure onto the side sills. I think it was 8 holes on each side! You CAN skip the drilling and just put the sills onto the car by screwing the front and back end (to where the mud guards would be) but doesn't seem that would be secure enough to me.
These sills come painted from factory. I bought mine from Luther Infiniti of Bloomington, think they are in MN??? They give 20% discount to internet orders and my ground shipment was free, i think... Total was just barely over $400 for the 2 side sills. Contact John at InfinitiBl@aol.com . Or u can visit their website at http://www.infinitiparts.biz
Hope this helps
