TIRES what is and what is not (good)

Hey guys, i own a '99 i 30. Which many of you may already know the tire size for (because you have the same car) Just in case: 205/65/R15 my current tires are TOYO Proxes H4. One of my tires in the front has a huge buble. My question to anyone who has changed tires in the past, what would you recommend from personal experience? For a quite ride with good handing and all seasson. Also would anyone sigest to get same tire?
Thank you
Mikey

Unfortunately Im not very familiar with tires. I wish I could even tell you what I have right now but my memory fades me. I know its the same size as stock which you mentioned above. I am however selling the tires. About 80% tread left if you're interested. Though unless you're in my area im guessing shipping will get expensive and kinda make it pointless.

Nothing wrong with them at all. I'm simply upgrading to 18 inch wheels so tires have to go.

excellent tires to look into: Dunlop Sport A2.. pretty cheap on tirerack.com

search for these things on the org and you'll see nothing but positive feedback.

one of the best all season performance bargains out there

bubble in the tire is potentially dangerous. it can also cause steering vibration at higher speeds..
like i said, can be dangerous

rather not risk it

Like said above, a search will give you literally pages of reslults. I run Bridgestone Potenza RE940's and love them.

Really? I heard they were noisy. I did hear that the Dunlops were awesome. Sumitomos HTR+ are good as well.

Well, first I ment 950's not 940's. I have heard one person say they were noisy. Every one else loves them. It must have been a maxima owner since they don't have the refinement and sound deadening material that we I30's have

No noise problem here.

Since only one tire is dead, i looked into getting one tire instead of changing the rest since the other 3 are almost brand spankin new. Besides the ride good and control road quite well. In case anyone needs good tires: they are
$65 each ; size: 205/65/15R ; Toyo Proxes H4 HR. GOOD TIRES would recommend if anyone needs. About other tires that you guys are talking about not sure, i wish i could say more =(.
P.S: i couldn't find those tires anyway, even at TOYO.com so if anyone does want them here is a link :http://onlinetires.com/Tires/ToyoTires.htm

with my luck! the tires that i told you guys about the TOYO. Are no longer being made. Discontinued !!!!!!! So... i m stuck on 3 toyo's which are almost brand spankin new and i need one more tire. As a result of that i've decided to get two Dunlop Sport A2's. at a price of 65 each. Anyone uses them>? Because based on some reading that i've done they aren't so bad in all areas : snow, wet, dry, handeling, touring... whatever... Anyone has anything to say about those? If i ll be running only two of them and two TOYO's???

If you still want the TOYO

I did some checking for you. Try this site. It shows they are still selling. http://www.ec-securehost.com/OnlineT...m/Toyo_H4.html

lol, thank you that is exactly where i ordered those tires from. When i called they said they have it. Then a week later when i didn't get them. I called back, and asked what had happen to my order. They told me they sent me an e-mail regarding the order: that those tires are discountinued and they don't have them anymore. Therefore, my order never went through. But i did end up waiting for about two weeks. But, thank you very much for helping. Back to the tires that i had asked about in last reply. Do you have any idea if it's a good idea to get two of those tires?

Try this.

That is funny-sorry. I have always understood that you should have the same tread design on all tires. Now, how much difference it makes, I don't know. However, I suggest you go to edmunds.com. Click on town hall and then find the tires discussion. Ask there and you will get an answer from some people that really know their stuff. Hope this helps.

Thank you JJ. I ll probably do that. But i also have a really bad buble on my tire. So i m really thinking about ordering the two tires instead of one. In other words i ll probably order the two Dunlops that i talked about earlier. What i did was, i asked few different tire shops. All responded that it is prefereble to have all same tred. But on a front wheal drive if you will have different i should change the front two tires. Which i will be doing. However, i really still wish i could find this tire. ( They are reallyyyy good.)

I just recently purchased Sumitomo HTR+ for my car...235/45/17WR. I purchased it for $109 a piece from Tire Rack and they are great! Road noise is hardly noticeable and they ride very smooth. I don't know how long they will last, but just my tip on tires...

Thank you Asian_N02. Keep in mind that i'm not getting the same size therefore those tires may not be good for the size that i need. But i will look into it. Thank you

I have a '98 maxima SE which came with (215/55-16) Goodyear RSA's,...they handled well, but were terrible in the rain. I replaced them with Bridgestone RE-950's and have been very happy with them. The 950's are very highly rated on TireRack.com
