I30t owners

Do you notice any torque steer on straight line acceleration? coming out of curves? I am thinking of replacing my tranny in the 2000 Max SE (as it is in for warranty work, and they are thinking of replacing it; I know the cost difference is $800 + new axles, but I will pay it, IF some I30t owner would recommend it), for a VLSD out of a 2000 I30t ...
And another thing, since I30t VLSD required new axles, I priced them and they were listed @ $$490 each (infiniti.net)... Has any replaced theirs @ this price or are there cheaper ones availible?

A little torque steer from a stop. Although that is not where the real benefit is. Where I enjoy the VSLD the most is accelerating through a corner, or accelerating out of a corner. You can really feel both tires grabing for traction. No one wheel peal

You can get used I30t tranny and axels.

if you can get it with reasonable price, go for it. Just like I30tMikeD said, there will still be some torque steer stumping the gas off the line, you'll notice it the most during cornering. Either on freeway ramps or street corners, just hit the gas halfway thru the turn and you will feel more power being channeled to the outside wheel as it begins to grip more and bring you around faster.

not a bad thing to have on FWD...

Auto Zone sells the axles for VLSD 5-speeds for $70. Installation takes 1-3 hours if you know what your doing.
