I an trying to figure out if my 2000 I30 has the microfilter before I go and try to change it. Nothing is listed on the window sticker and I can't find it in the owners manual, but I have read that some Max. come standard with them. Do we have it too?? (Tried search and nothing)

 

I am 90% sure that it does. Just call the dealer and ask them how much to change it, then you'll know for sure.

 

Yes, the 2000 has an in-cabin microfilter. Part no. is B7200-3Y000, straight list on them is 48.95, so don't pay more then that. You can get them at Nissan dealerships, they'll probably cost less there as opposed to an Infiniti dealer, although I don't know for sure.

I asked the dealer about mine and they said that some had the filter added as an option, but those that didn't have it, can be installed.
They said that I could just drop the glove box and open up the assembly behind it put one in. The filter costs ~$50. I'll repost when I open mine up.

 

My I30T did not have the filters installed. I didn't get it as an option when I purchased the car. I ordered the filters and installed them myself. It pretty easy just drop in two filters in-line behind the glove box.

It was a little painful taking out the glove box, it feels like you're uninstalling the dash!

If I remember correctly there are two screws at the bottom and one on the side, between the box and the door, then you just pull.
