reading on here http://www.nissannews.com/index.html i see that the i35 will march on but no more qx4 (im bringing it up cause i liked it a lot). intresting. whats the final say ? i thought infiniti was going all RWD? im thinking 2k4 i35 but no 2k4-->(2k3/2k2) max hmm.. are they going to introduce an altima platform i35 for 2k5? did the vq30/5 i30/5 outlive its lesser counterpart maxima? hmm

Why would they need an Alimta platform I35? They can still manufacture the I35 on the same platform as previously. And what's to say that they dont use the Maxipad platform? They could definitely do that. I highly doubt they'll go to the Altima to produce their I35.

Hey carl...talk to Richard about it the next time you see him. He knows all about it. The decision to keep the I35 for another year was a last-minute one I believe.

well maxima and i35s go hand in hand.. 2k4 maximas are altima based.. so it would only makes sense to have the 2k5 i35 the same way

I just don't see the I35 fitting in with the new line. I give it a couple more years till it's gone.

I wish they would come out with a six-speed I35 and bump the power up to 265-270 before they discontinue the platform. That would be the ultimate form of the last Japanese made Maxima and a great way to end the run of the model platform.

Why would they keep the Qx4 when they have the FX45?

I agree - and with a 5.6 liter V8 on the way - seems like the QX4 has outlived its useful lifetime. Wonder what the new 'monster' SUV will look like? FX45 on steroids? Probably something radical, I expect!
