Hi, I need to purchase remotes for my 97 I30. I was wondering if there is any way to find out if they are compatible with mine. I already called the dealer but they insisted that I come over and purchase the remote and have them program it...which would be a total waste of time and money. I'm sure I can get em a lot cheaper and program em myself.

Anyways, the ones I'm looking at have the FCC# A269ZUA078.

just make sure that the remote is for the a 96-99 infiniti or 95-99 maxima. It just needs to be programmed, it's a simple procedure (something like turn your ignition switch to on three times, press a button on the remote and voila - oh there's a step somewhere in there where you have to open the drivers side door with your key), search the internet, or it may be in the FAQ's.

You can get a remote off of ebay. They go for $15-$25. Then get the programing instuctions off the org for free. It takes about 30 sec to program it.

Sorry MikeD I failed to mention that :P I was assuming he already was using Ebay because he had the serial number from the unit, and most ebay ones give you the serial number (as if it makes a difference?)...
