Acceleration Noise!!! HELP
Acceleration Noise!!! HELP
When accelerating hard, there is a clicking noise coming from my engine compartment. It sounds like tin hitting against something repetitively, though I do not thing it is a tin part. Any idea what might be?
Typically I use 97 (I think). The noise is so hard to describe, but I hear cars making the same noise all the time. Right when I hit the gas it clicks several times then stops. I wish I could describe it better!

i have a 2k i30t and when accelerating similar noise, as you described, comes from my engine.
Not all the time though.
I hope it's nothing serious.
About a week ago I drove a 2002 Maxima and I heard a very similar noise from the engine of that car when I drove.

So what is the consensus can this be fixed, will it damage my car? The noise makes me nervous to accelerate, and I just have to drive fast! The noise is almost impossible to duplicate when I take it to the dealer. I need to fix this!
It's your engine knocking, mine does it too, and this is beginning to bother me. It goes and comes, even though I drive it pretty much the same and always fill with 91 shell. I spoke with my mechanic and he said he would take a look at it and run it for a while, but apparently a bunch of differently things can cause it. Because of that, and the positive stuff I have read about switching to synthetic oil in our cars, I will probably try that first, and let you guys know my experience with that.
