Hi, new poster here. Where to put jackstands?

Long time lurker, first time poster. I checked the FAQ here and for the 4th gen Max.

Dumb question, but I'm always nervous getting under my car. Where are the best spots to place jack stands?

I'm going under to change the O2 sensors, should be fun.

Thanks

How much did you pay for your 02 Sensors and how many did you get?

I place mine right under where the control arm bolts to. I also leave the jack in place for extra security.

Didn't get the sensors yet- I'm going to Pepboys and Autozone to check the prices there.

If they're a lot more expensive than I can get online, I'll just order online and wait a week.

There's a good online store linked somewhere in the 4th gen Max forum that sells the sensors for $60 each, I think.

Thanks guys

I'm doing this on the street, so I think I'll try the ramps. I wasnt sure if there'd be enough
clearance, but I haven't lowered the car, so sounds like I should be fine.

Thanks for the info, though, Mike. Once I get a driveway I can work in I'll know where to put the stands.

Upstream at Pepboys, OEM, $89.00. Universal (bosch) is $59.00. You've got to crimp the wires with the universal. It comes with a little kit, so its not so bad. Downstream are the same prices. I bought the universal downstream, and since Pepboys (of course) didnt have them, the upstreams from online.

Check the 4th Gen boards, that link and good advice for chaging the sensors is posted there somewhere.

I would jack it up where the control arm bolts to also. I got new factory o2 sensors from everythingnissan.com. They were only $100 a piece and come with all new wiring and connectors. I also use ramps any time I need to lift the car, but do not need to remove the tires.

I got my oxygen sensors from www.oxygensensors.com.

Don't get the universal ones, just get the OEM replacements.
