Tein Basic Damper Installed

Well after about 6 hours, I finally got my Tein Basic Damper coil-over kit on. I also have my Blehmco lower control arm bar to put on, but I'm gonna let the springs settle before I put my FSTB/RSB/LCAB all on. First impressions, I really love it, the suspension feels just as good as my fathers 350Z, and he agreed. The craftsmanship is awesome, it rides just like my stock suspension, but I'm gonna wait to "test" my new suspension out til I get everything back on, and I can hit these country backroads of Kentucky Two issues I had installing them, the holes pre-drilled onto the strut assembly with the Tein kit are tiny, they wont even come close to fit using the factory bolts, but its an easy fix with a little drilling. Other issue, which bothers me, but isnt bothering the car, the top bumpstop, resembling a large donut that fit on top of the factory spring, is way too large to use with this new setup, and right as of pictures and instrutctions for this kit, that piece is not used. It just seemed to me either I'd use that piece, of a piece they supplied in the kit, but I guess I'm just too safety conscience. Well anyways, I'll voice my opinion more once the springs settle and I get everything back on, but for right now, I love the way my car feels now. I have pictures, of my drop, which is a very large amount, but I don't have any hosting areas, I'll email the pics to anyone that can 1. Post them, or 2. Wants to see them. For comparison, my fathers Z sits 3 1/8th inches from the ground, to the lowest point on his front bumper, right now, I'm sitting at 4 1/4 inches.

You can open a cardomain page and host the pics there, and then link the pics to the cardomain site, posting them here.

Sick...Nice drop up front. I would dial the rear up just a tad, however. Looks fine in the side shot, but the shot of the rears looks a little low.

Thanks for posting those for me Meta, much oblidged. Well I'm gonna let the springs settle for 3-4 weeks before I do anything, I think I'm gonna raise it up a little because I want to be able to get my Blehmco lower control bar on After driving a couple more days on the new setup, I love my Teins even more, they feel so stock, but yet still so much stronger, the best combination.

No problem!

Your ride height kinda looks like mine right now, LOL. I have Tein H-Tech springs and Illumina struts installed up front with stock suspension in rear, so I have that nice "raked" look going on too.

Glad to hear that you like them. How much were they, and where did you buy them?

Have you just not gotten around to installing the rears, or is that how you want them?

A) It was cheaper to do the front only.

B) I hate removing the spring/strut assemblies in the rear. Dismantling my custom box and crawling into a trunk is something I try not to repeat.

C) I only want to lower my car to get rid of the horrendous wheel well gap. Handling isn't realy a concern to me. The gap over the front wheels was horrible, while I thought the gap over the rear wheels was just fine. Now I've taken care of the front like I wanted and still maintained damn near stock ride quality.

Hmmm, looking at the part numbers, it APPEARS that they are the same for 4th and 5th gen...would you want to sell your rears to me? If they are PN SKP28-BUB00, let me know!

LOL, I think you misread what I said. I have Tein H-Tech springs. They are pretty soft, but don't drop as low in the rear. 1 inch versus H&R's 1.3 (I think) in the rear.

I think I understand it- I am just stupid. A few posts up you said that you were stock in the rear and on H-Techs up front. You said that you were leaving it that way. I was offering to buy your REAR H-Tech springs.

I just suck at typing and mis-typed when I said H&R. (I'm Busted)

Haha, I gotcha. No problem. As for selling the springs...I think I want to hold on to them for a while in case I ever do decide to lower the rear. But if I change my mind I'll be sure to let you know!

MetaOrbit - EDFC is not compatible with the Basic coilover (not available for a33), Since you have a33, you can hook up EDFC if you get the TEIN SuperStreet (which is not available in a32 application).

I think 98I30t purchased the Basic kit at the pre-release price I was running

TEIN SuperStreet, List: 1250+ shipping.
RedlineMax.com Price: $1,125 SHIPPED (.org discount). SuperStreet coilover is only available for 2K+ Max/I30s.

TEIN Basic, List: $890+ shipping.
RedlineMax.com Price: $825.00 SHIPPED (.org discount). Basic coilover is only available for 4th gen Max/I30s.

Drat. My perfect conventional spring setup would be my intrax fronts with H&R or H-Tech rears...

Thanks for the heads-up Ange. I knew the kit for the A33 was EDFC compatible, I just forgot that it was SS and not Basic. But being a college student right now, I don't think I should spend that much on suspension, LOL. I'll have to wait a little while..

And sorry Henry. If you're patient I'll probably get it in my head that I need money quick and will have a fire sale to get rid of them. Like I said before, you'll be the first to know

without a doubt.. it's a nice thing to have.. you guys with a33 have the luxury of being able to go with the better coilover system (TEIN) than the overrated JIC at a few hundred bucks less.

is this the TEIN basic coilover kit that ANGE was having a special price on? i believe it is....

is it both height and ride quality( dampening or w/e) adjustable???

i was thinking illumina + stechs but i think imma go with these for a few hundred more. the luxury of being able to adjust the height is worth it.

btw, are you able to go any lower than that?
