Does anyone know how to clean the top side of the moonroof cover?

You know the slide-out cover that blocks the sun when the moonroof is closed? I can see the top side of that through the glass moonroof and it's sort of dirty. I'd like to be able to clean it, but (as you know) it retracts when the moonroof opens. Does anyone know of a way to gain access to it for cleaning?

yaa, it's pain in the roof ;-)

Last week, it was sooo hot and sunny out and left the sunroof titled and then came into the office building. Two hours later it rained a bit and I felt soo bad to have left it open. Two days later, I could smell sthg like rotten egg when I slided out the sun shade cover, and I finally traced the smell to that upper side (black cloth) of the sun shade cover. It smelled terribly bad and I wanted to post here seeking help how to get rid of that foul smell.

I thought I'll give it a shot and sprayed the room freshner in the space between the sun shade and sunroof and then put one Bounce sheet. I guess the trick worked and it doesn't smell that bad at all now, all I can smell is fresh Bounce smell

What I did
I tilted the sunroof open, and the space was large enough for me to use my vaclum cleaner with the corner attachment (the small angeled piece). It worked well enough to get out all the big pieces of debris, pine needles leaves n such. I guess I leave mine open too often.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to go that route too.
