last time im asking suspension problems...

kay...i've been doing some research...and i've come up with some more precise questions...

so...if i just change my springs u guys say that it will destroy the balance of the car?or am i just taking this wrong??

is 1.8 drop front and 2.2 drop rear still legal to drive in Cali??even if its not would i even get pulled over for driving an i30??

how would S-techs ride?just s-techs its gonna be a while before i can even touch my shocks or anything else...would s-techs be a bad idea?i want a large drop and smooth ride??if i keep my stock rims and fat tires would it keep it comfortable?

if i lower my car should i get new bumpstops?since these help with shock travel should that soften blows if i lower my ride?

if i load my car with 4 ppl who weigh over 200 lbs would my car drag on the floor?or would it do that with the stock suspension?

i heard tokico struts suck. and do not last long on 4th gens...is this true?

due to bad experience with cheap parts should i try maxspeed combo(maxspeed springs w/ kyb gr-2 struts/shocks)??i heard they run for about 400 altogether....

If you replace the springs and use stock struts, your struts will prematurely wear out. This is due to the stiffer spring. I guess eventually it will change the "balance" of your car.

I don't know about Cali specs.

Don't know about s-techs.

It would be a good idea to replace all rubber/urethane parts with new ones since you already have your suspension apart. Depending on the condition of your bumpstop, you could probably use the old one.

Your car will not drag on the floor with the car loaded with people. I have KYB/AGX / H&R combo. I have had 5 people in my car, and it did not drag on the floor. It shouldn't do that with the stock suspension either.

Don't know about Tokicos.

I've heard some good success stories maxspeed/kyb combo. It's lower than my H&R setup, but still maintains a relatively stock ride. I hope this helps.

Just changing the springs will cause the ride to be crap. It is not the correct way to do it and I advise against it

The I30 has so much stock wheel gap that you would have to drop the car 4" or a cop to notice

Large drop and smooth ride are not going to happen...With the way our suspension is designed, droping more than 1.5" leaves little to no suspension travel. IMO, if you want to go lower than 1.5" and maintain some decent ride quality and suspension travel you need to get quality coilovers.

shortend bump stops will help to regain some of the lost suspension travel and lessen the chances of bottoming out. A good idea to do.

Your car is not going to drag on the ground.

I would not recomdend Tokico HP's to be paired with lowering springs, Tokico Illuminas are great for lowerd cars.

Gr-2's are a good strut for the money and will do fine with most springs up to a 1.5" drop. I don't know much about maxspeeds, but I would not buy them

I am on Eibachs and KYB GR-2's, KYB bump stops/boots, and 15" tires. I like my ride quality.
