LED Turn signal mirror cover install write up.

Alright guys, I am helping someone on here install their LED turn signal mirror covers and decided to go out after work and take apart my car to take pictures of the install so i could do a write up on this for everyone else. I also took the pictures and added little notes on them to help you out.

If someone can tell me how to go about putting a How To with pictures on the org, i would like to submit it. Please help me out.

Cool, can't wait for that. What do you guys think? Should I get Chrome LED covers or just reg painted Black Covers but smoking out the light so its not too awkward looking?

To post pics you must get them downloaded to your computer then host them on a free site like cardomain or photobucket. It's really easy. Do you have a digital camera?

Go with ones that are the color of your car. That is what I am going to do.

This whole LED thing is great, as it will eliminate my disire to install side markers on the fenders, which requires cutting! Very risky indeed!

I don't know what happened with the Dr. on this. Supposedly you can view a write up at paradox-systems.com, which also sells the LED mirror covers. I have not viewed it myself.

Quick questions to anyone that has these:

1) Can you wire these up so that only when the turn signal is on that they flash and when the turn signal is off they are off, Basically no light from them unless the turn signal is flashing, like the benz setup's on their mirrors only when the turn signal is flashing?

2) Do the wrap around the mirrors so that they act like a side marker, So if you were along side of it or behind along the side the mirror and the led mirror began flashing would you see it?

1. Yes, it ONLY flashes when the turn signal is put on, otherwise they are off like Benzes.

2. Yes, they wrap around the mirror as much as virtually possible without actually going onto the mirror surface itself. You can see them from the side given you are at the right angle, but if you're too far behind then no you won't see them as easily as a sidemarker, nor can you on Benzes either.

If that's the case, get the arrows on the mirror surface itself as well, just like the 2004 Denali's have and so forth.

OK. Like what I said, it IS the same as the Benz ones. You CANNOT see them on a Benz when you are behind or even at certain side angles, so I don't know what you're talking about? If what you "see" is reflection on the ground, wall or on another car's paint job then yeah you can, but you can't actually see the LEDs blinking themselves unless you are further up on the Benz.

Bottom line is that they're exactly like a Benz except it's a shell cover, but you can't tell whether it's a shell cover or stock at all unless you're a Knitpicking-Maxima Owning ***** who knows about them and doesn't like them lol.

Some of the clear plastic does wrap around the sides so you can see a little amber flashing from behind at certain angles.

Hey everybody, there is a link on the paradox website. It has been up for about a week or two now. I put a how to with color pictures on there. If you can not find it, please email me and I will email you the instructions, but it should be there.

You can wire the mirrors up both ways. You can have them on all the time and then flash when you engage your turn signals OR you can have them ONLY flash. It's up to you.

Hope this helps.

The images on the site are a little dark. I think it may be because they reduced the size so they didn't take up as much space online. Just guessing. If you need brighter pictures, email me and I can send this write up to you.

Almost makes me want to do it...but then I'd have to remove the clear bra from my mirrors, and then take off the door panel again, and then run wires through the firewall again (all without a garage now)...ahhhhh....nevermind.

MetaOrbit: Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. Like I said earlier though, it seems that my pictures turned out dark on that site. On the one I saved on my computer, they are brighter and you can see more detail, but I think it still gives people the idea and hope it helps.

Thanks again.

are these covers that go over the mirror or do you have to take the outside part of the mirror off?

I believe that www.paradox-systems.com is having a sale on the LED mirror covers right now and they are going for around $115 shipped. They are shells that go over your existing mirror shell. If you want more detailed pictures please email me or PM me and I can send you as many as you want so you can see the detail.

I love mine! I wish I had gone with the Chrome ones, but I still love the way they look. I ended up painting my myself black to match my car. When you get them, they are white plastic, or chrome depending on the ones you buy.

Hope that helped everyone.

If you are talking about sending the wires through the side of the door where the henges are, you can poke a small hole in the boot and send the wires through there. I believe that the other wires from the door area already going through there currently. you just need to make a small hole and they will go right through.

Hope that helped.
