Place Racing CAI Installed

I took lots of pics. I'll try to get them zipped and will need a place to host or uploaded on Cardomain. Yeah, Hayes and I thought the drilling part was the hardest part and we were so WRONG!!!!!.

To the folks doing the install yourselves, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME AND GET THE PIPES POSITIONED CORRECTLY!!!!! I was impatient and that is why I used the dremel tool to make things fit. I will go back in this weekend and play with the fitting and make everything fit correctly. I am getting a rubbing noise at the moment and have looked and I do not see anything rubbing. I think it is the intake moving with the engine on the rubber piece of the hole I cut. I think it is just going to take some playing with.

And then there is the fise box that is on the fender. If you run into this you will know what I am talking about, when nothing seems to fit. There is a white box on the underside of it, that must come off. Of course those of you that can read may not have this problem.

Another note, when removing the MAF from the existing air box, BE CAREFUL!! I did not have any problems, but others have. If the housing for the MAF breaks, it is like $400+ for another as you cannot buy the housing without the MAF in it. - Hayes gets the credit for this one.

If you are doing the complete cai, you may want to take off the front tire. That will allow you to reach the area to install the filter more easily. Hayes had a jack and an impact gun and was able to get the tires off very easily!

I think that about covers it. Ya'll be safe and be careful when installing the intake!

And thanks to 6spd_Hayes for the assist!!!!

Got my pics up.

Your review was weak and pointless, you left out the most important faqs....HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE/FEEL NOW!

Just kidding. I had to drill the same damn hole into my G20t to install a HotShot CAI, and I almost cried for days (drilling a hole in my car). After that, I said I would never do that again! Try explaining when you trade/sell the car what the hell that hole is there for LMAO! Anyway, back to topic, how is the peformance? I have got to see some significant gains in order for me to switch from a Apexi Dry Funnel Cone filter WAI system, to a oil base-drill HUGE hole in my car-CAI close to wheel well water sucking-type Air flow system

It is awesome! I love the instant power that is given. It is like an asthma patient with a new inhaler!!! It breathes so good now. Not to mention the growl sound from outside the car. If the car is in neutral or iding the sound is not noticeable, but when you get on it, , watchout!!!

The only downfall is gas mileage has dropped because I cannot keep my foot out of it. Over time the newness will wear off and I will ease off the gas a little.

i know what you mean, I don't have a true CAI system in my car but, I have the WAI installed and it sounds like my old AEM CAI in my acura cls. I love the growl of a CAI/WAI i tend to only be getting 14.9 miles on average in I35.

I have some adjustments to make. I am getting a rubbing/creaking sound where the downpipe goes throught the hole. I am able to move the pipe ever so slightly and hear it. I just need to spend more time and make some adjustments. Other than that...there is nothing to complain about except the gas mileage.
