I blew my O2 sensor i got a code 0135 and the autozone dude said its my heater O2 sensor. i bought my car from a nissan dealer and they said that i need to special order that part. or i get the part from infiniti (226902y920) but they want $167.00 for the damn thing anddddd 400 to install it YEA RIGHTTT
Can i do this myself and where can i get the part for a more reasonble amount because that is a ridiculous amount for a sensor. How does this affect my car? will i still be able to drive it?? the performance of the car has been crappy for the past month but the code had just come up. please i need advice thanks all

From what I've read you can still drive around on a bad o2 sensor and you won't damage your car. You will definately see all your power come back when you replace it though. You might want to check the 5th gen forum for where to get a new one and how to install it, I'm sure you can get it cheaper.
replacing an o2 sensor is easy as hell. You can get new o2s from www.oxygensensors.com and DO NOT get the generic style that must be spliced into the old harness. Get the ones that come with the correct lenght of wire, loom, and connectors. I think they are around $70. The only special tool that is required is an o2 sensor socket, which can be purchased at any auto store.
Since you are a 2000 and I am 97, the amount of o2 sensors varies. I have three: 2 on the y pipe, and 1 behind the cat on the b pipe. I think you 5th gen guys have 4 or even 5. The one you will need to replace is on the y pipe, but since you have up to 4 on that pipe, I do not know which one it is. Perhaps some one from the 5th gen forum can help you with this.
If you get under the car, you will notice a pipe that comes from each of the exhaust manifolds, then joins into 1 pipe and heads to the cat. That is the y pipe. If you look at the pipe, you will notice sensors screwed into bungs on the pipe. These are the o2 sensors, and they have wiring that goes up into the engine bay, where they will connect to a harness that goes to the ECU.
To actually get the sensor out, all you need is an o2 socket and a ratchet. The thing just screws out. Then, you need to follow the wiring until you find the connector in the engine bay and disconnect it. Then, install the new one. I did all three of mine in a couple of hours, so it really is a simple job.
