i30 Fogs
Ok, I need some help, I cant seem to figure out how to get my foglights out to replace the housings. on the back of the bracket I can see 4 bolts, but upon further inspection, they seem to actually be welded to the bracket?! the only movable bolt I can find is the one that faces down that holds the cornering light to the foglight bracket. Is there anyone who can help me with the trick to taking these things out?

You need to remove your cornering light first. This will allow you access to the other screw that you need to remove in order to take out the fog light. If you need any further help, let me know and I can send you a picture of the cornering light removed.
Once you get your cornering light out, it will be very simple.

Place a flat blade screw driver in between the light and the bumper on the corner (not the front end) of the light. You may want to wrap the screw driver with a towel so you dont scratch the paint.
slide that in there and then pry gently with it. The light is held in by a piece of plastic( i think) attached to the light housing and it slides into the bumper in a little hole. Did that make sense? the light should slide out of this hole after you have taken the bolt or screw out near the fog light. Sometimes you have to use a little muscle to bump it out of the hole.
If you need more clarification or help, let me know and I can send these pictures. They may help.

paultyler_82, what are you replacing your factory fog lights with? I'd kinda like to upgrade my fogs, but I'm not sure what all is available. I dont know whether I should be looking to replace the entire light or just the bulbs themselves. I'm also looking for different options for headlights too, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at all the different talk about HID & Xenon and different kinds of bulbs. Are you upgrading your headlights as well?

I had to replace my fog light housings as they were in bad shape, there were some cheap off brand replacements from Headlights Wholesale that they called Euro clear, but they weren't much different from stock, the only problem I seem to be having is that they don't seem to be in there correctly... and the aim is off badly. I've already upgraded my headlights to Cefiros and I'm using Sylvania Xtravision halogen bulbs, they work fine for me.

I hate to sound ignorant, but I gotta figure this out eventually. Do the cefiro headlights come with all the hardware necessary for HID bulbs or do you have to purchase an HID kit to go with them?

While on the subject of Cefiros, has anyone any pics of the beam spread (horizonally) and the vertical dispersion? I'm sure they aren't DOT legal, but if they offer better visibility... Also, with the HIDs, is the stock wiring able to handle the increased amperage draw? I've got a '96 and wiring does age. Thx
