Power Seats

Are the power seats in I30's supposed to move really slow? Mine have been doing this but I'm the only driver so I haven't noticed it much until lately. The power seat seems to move forward really slowly. It moves backward faster than it moves forward and when it moves forward it makes a "growling" type noise. I hope the motor isn't about to go! That would suck.... any help is appreciated

Look down under the seats, you may need to oil the rail where the screw mechanism that brings seats back and forth. Also, there may be something stuck under yourseats too? The speed of these seats moving forward should be about the same as it moving backwards. As the car gets older, YES.. it became slower.. the motor may be burning out soon too..

Ditto that...while I had the seats out for a sunroof repair, I added a bit of bearing grease to the moving parts and they were more quiet but I didn't notice a speed diff.

They're a cinch to remove... 4 bolts for each seat, but be careful, they're a little heavy and may scratch stuff on the way out the door if you take them out them to service them as opposed to tilting them back while still in the car.
