Service Engine Light Question
Service Engine Light Question
My "Service Engine Soon" light came on during my trip to Vegas this weekend. I am guessing it's a sensor since the car is still running fine. On my Durango, I would just disconnect the negative terminal and turn the key as if trying to start for 15 seconds to reset the light. That didn't work on the I-30.
Is there an easy way to reset the light? I am currently trying to locate a parts store with a reader to check the code, but wanted to try to reset it first and see if it came back.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If it is the same as my 96 I30 the panel near your gas pedal comes off, your ecu is there, a tiny screw on the left side sometimes covered in tape, turn right pause left pause a couple times, it will go off, next start. Check how to's to be sure, if it does not look like I described it is different.
Tried the procedure from the 350 reset but couldn't get it to work. Went to Autozone and pulled up the code. P0160 Rear O2 Sensor High Input (Bank 2)
Reset the code and will see if it goes away. If not, I will replace the sensor when I get back to San Diego.
Thanks for the assistance everyone.
