Couple random pics
Any guesses as to what's going down this weekend? Looks like fun...
And just a cool pic I found on my cell phone. I'm thrilled when my w600i takes a halfway decent pic and plus this is probably the last pic I'll have taken with it looking like this:

Well, that plastic container on top looks like one of those fuzzy ***** you mount on a drill to polish rims. Either that or it's one of those shower scrubbers.
I think I see a PIAA box on the right, so my guess is you're doing some lighting work.
BTW, that is a damn good pic with your phone...for a phone.

H-tech fronts and H&R rear springs (although I think you said your were doing the opposite), a set of rear illuminas (did you just have them on the front or are these replacements?), new fogs to match the HID's, are those Eibach camber bolts?, a mother's polishing ball.... and some new shoes for you.
You will definitely have to let me know how the ride/ handeling is with your new set-up.
You do indeed have a fun weekend up ahead!

Some of the stuff is in odd boxes or the wrong box, so here's a rundown:
-Mother's Powerball
-Eibach 5mm spacers
-H&R 25mm spacers
-PIAA Sport Horns
-OEM Rear Struts
-OEM Rear Springs
-H&R Springs
-New Nissan dustboots
-Yellow foglight capsules
-Impact sockets
-Spring Compressors
Not all is getting used or installed. But it's the stack I have near the door to load into the car so I can do some of the work back at home this weekend.
Current setup (suspension-wise) is H-Techs all around and Illuminas all around. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm going to do with the front but the rear, for the moment, is a bit up in the air. And if I feel like it I might screw around with the spacers again.

I was going to install the OEM sport springs on my Illuminas in the rear, but I couldn't get the damn lower strut mounting bolts (that mount to the rear beam) free. They were literally fused together. I used breaker bars, pipes, WD-40, PB Catalyst, and my electric impact wrench and neither of them budged. I remembered it being difficult the last couple times I did suspension but then again, the car had a LOT less miles on it and I think at that point, hadn't ever seen road salt. I gave up as I eventually started rounding off the head of bolt and didn't want to get in a bigger mess than I already was.
So, now I have front OEM Struts + H&R front springs and H-Tech rears + Illumina rears. It actually looks pretty even, until I put things in the trunk, then it sags in the rear a little bit. But still, I prefer the raked look, and since it looks like I'll be in Nawlins next semester I'm raising the rear back to stock...so I'm going to call and see if the guy I know who works at one of the Nissan dealers here is still doing work on the side (and hopefully can break those freaking rear bolts loose).
I also got one of my yellow fogs done...on my spare foglight. I'll finish them up (on the fogs that are in the car) after the school year ends and I have more time. I'm glad I had that extra fog to practice on...I know I can do it a lot better/cleaner now on the real deal.

You need to post some pics now! I dont think I've seen this combo yet.
As for the rear strut mounts... What kind of socket were you using? Use a six-piont impact socket on a long 1/2" breaker bar. The six-point will leave almost no chance of rounding.
I love the yellow fog capsules. Are you gunna reinstall the bulb shield over the capsules? I did, but the only reason was to keep amber reflections down when the lights are off... Im a bit wierd about the clear look, as you could probably tell.

On the fogs...I want to keep the bulb shield over the capsules, but as it stands now I'm not seeing (very easily) how I'm going to be able to keep it. My capsules are longer than the shield, so I need to figure out a different way to keep them on. I have a couple ideas in my head, but I'll wait 'til this summer to perfect them before I use them on the car.

I just replaced the little bolts that secure the shields from factory with ones that were a bit longer. Then I tightened the shield over the capsule. Works like a charm!
I did have to cut the bolts a little shorter though. If the bolts are too long they wont go in all the way (something blocking them). Probaly wont take more than an hour or so. Took me a bit longer because I painted my fog surrounds when I did this.

I will say I did love the yellow reflection I saw in the fog housing. Can't wait to get that (relatively cheap too, I might add) mod done.

In which picture did you see yellow (with the lights off)? I must remove it immediately! Haha
You can only see yellow reflection if you are down at the level of the fog lights, but they look clear from most other angles. Which is the way I like it.
You have a lot more patience than I do when it comes to installing mods. I have trouble waiting till the weekend much less a month. Definitely post some pics when you are done.

LOL...I meant I saw yellow in the foglight I did - when staring at it dead-on. It gave me an idea of what the light will look like once they're done. But otherwise I'm with you..I'd rather they outwardly appear to be clear.
And as for the patience...well...I only have it right now because I have to. I have a bunch of things I need to finish up this semester so that I can graduate, so that's really priority #1. After that I'm moving back home for the summer before starting law school so I should have plenty of time to "catch up."

Just wanted to update...
I got the rear stock springs back on.
So now it's setup like this:
H&R Front springs
OEM Front struts
OEM Rear springs
Tokico Illumina Rear struts dialed @ 2
It actually doesn't feel that much different than when I had the H&R fronts and H-Tech rears. Just now the rear end doesn't look as "saggy." I'd say with the H-Techs I had barely a 2 finger gap up front and now I easily have three.
Now, with H&R front and OEM rear it looks almost perfectly even. I think given a couple days + putting my sub & amp combo back in the trunk and it'll look perfectly even.
Comfort is bar none. Truthfully the comfort improved as soon as I changed out the front H-Techs/Illuminas with the H&R/OEM. The front didn't seem to bottom out nearly as much. I'd say this is as close to feeling stock as you can get. Which makes sense, since only the front is dropped (and fairly mild at that).
In case anyone is wondering, I kept the Illuminas in the rear so I can play around with the tuning to try to counteract the stiffer springs in front by maybe dialing up the stiffness of the struts in the rear. Time will tell.
Now I really need to get my spacer situation in the rear resolved. The gap in back looks larger than it is at some angles because of how tucked in toward the car the rears are.
