Woops, how do I buff THIS out?

Me=

I was at the bank last night and it was raining BAD. I backed up and bumped into a parked car. He pulled into the dominoe's as I was getting in the car, and I didnt see him. I'd say I wasnt doing more than 5-7MPH. The guy was drivin an old Ford Escort stationwagon, and he was cool with it. Said he already had a new bumper sittin at home cus of an existing crack. These pics were last night a few minutes after the bump.

So what kind of rubbing compound or what should I use to try to dull the "spidering" effect? I eventually plan to have the bumper repainted because of this, but in the mean time I'm just trying to make it less noticeable. And how much do you think the repaint job would cost for that small area?
Thanks

Meguier's Scratch-X works pretty well on light scratches. Also, you might want to post this over in the detailing section. A lot of those guys really know their $hit.

scratch X is good but there isn't a ton you can do about the spidering because the paint/clear coat has hairline cracks now. I would just have the entire bumber re-painted because you can never really trust blending on a bumper like that. I don't see it being more that $3-500.

I was thinking the same thing about the spidering.

Thanks. Because it's on the curve of the bumper, I think it's really not that noticeable. I'm puttin all my money to paying it off around February timeframe. The scratch-X helped a lil, but... meh.. I can live with it for now I guess. I might run it by a couple of body shops in the next week or two.
