problem with gauges

owned the car for a few months, and since winter hit, 2 times now at night when i turned the lights on, the rpm gauge from 0-5000rpm is dimly lit. usually within 10-20 minutes it comes back to normal.
Maybe because its 20 degrees out, or is it something else i should be concerned about?

Hard to say for sure... electrical can be very strange sometimes. I would not worry about it. But if it really gets annoying, you might just pull the cluster and replace the bulb in the back and see if that does the trick.

I never had a problem with my lights, but on VERY cold nights when it got below 35ish or so, my TACH wouldnt work until about 10-20 minutes of driving depending on how cold it was. I could do 80 MPH, and it would show 200-400 RPM.

The Nissan dealership said its a loose connection. Might be the case of yours. However, taking the console out can be a waste of half a day. Good luck.

35 degrees = VERY cold... HAHAHA (just giving ya crap)

Also, removing the guage cluster should not take much more than 30min on your FIRST time. I've removed it a couple of times now and can have the thing out of there in well under 10min.

There are many how-to's floating around so it may be worth it to check out.
