Throttle body cleaning
Throttle body cleaning
Hi Guys,
My 2000 I30 has some throttle problem. Recently, the accelerator pedal is getting stuck once every couple of weeks. I have to press real hard to move it once and then its fine. When this happens at a traffic light and if press it hard, the car will jump...
So I did some research and it seems to be the dirty butterfly in the throttle body. Before I open the air intake pipe and clean it, can anyone tell me what this drive-by-wire thing is? Is it ok If I open the air intake pipe and clean the butterfly etc.
Thanks for your replies.

Drive by wire is only on the VQ35. Just take off the intake up to the TB and clean it out with carb cleaner.
You might want to check your trottle cables for sticking and proper adjustment as well.

I suggest spray the carb cleaner on a CLEAN rag or towel first then wipe in the inside. You dont want pure carb cleaner going in there cause itll scare the hell outta ya the first time you start it up. This happened to me earlier now I clean it whenever I do an oil change.
