Can you guys help me out?

According to the Sylvania Lamp Replacement Guide that many people seem to use, the bulb that I should be using for the rear turn signals in my 2000 I30 is #7440. This is a wedge base bulb, but when I look at the socket for my rear turn signals, it supports a round base bulb that is not a #7440. Does anyone know what bulb this is supposed to be? Do I have an I30 that is different from others or is the Sylvania guide just wrong?

I tried attaching pictures, but I guess I don't know how to do it. But, the bulb is a round base bulb with notches on the base at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions.

Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

I think the Sylvania database is incorrect. I picked up a set of mirrored 7440's to throw back there, took it all apart, and it was the wrong bulb. The 7440 works in our front turn signals. I'm not sure what the correct bulb is. Never went back to finish that.

These Philips silvervisions are same as our stock bulbs for the rear turn signals

Figured it out - the bulb type is #7507. Just got some chrome/amber bulbs for the rear turn signals. They give the tails a nice clean look. Thanks to the people that posted.

Get the Philips Silversion bulbs and you'll be happy. I drive with them almost one year and can say - they have better output as the stock ones, which means more safety...! They costed $20 or so, but absolutely worth the money...
Just my opinion!

Where can you get them? It looks like they are only available in the UK on eBay.

I bought them from a local auto parts store and seems you would have to buy the bulbs from ebay.co.uk as you mentioned abobe...

BTW, the Osram Diadems looks very close to the SilverVisions, but i have no experience with these bulbs...

Powerbulbs.com (or maybe .co.uk)

They have free shipping (including to the US) and if you google for a "voucher code" for there you can get 10% off your order.

I've got some Silvervisions and and Philips Vision Plus (for the highbeams) on order from them right now.
