2000 I30 Tranny????

hey there,
i just picked up a 2000 i30 nice car - but when i drive it it hesitates to switch gears like from 1-2 or 2-3 .....etc. I have to rev it priity high until it actually switchs gears- any idea on what that can be ? Is it a tranny problem or something small??>.. quick fix...

When mine is cold, it kinda hesitates on the 2-3 and 3-o/d, especially on slow backroads, but after I take it to 55 and back down, it's fine. I usually have to nudge it over 2600RPM to make it realize it needs to shift. I assume since there's no slippage, no clunking, no hard shifts that it's normal.

Mine only has 48K miles, so I think it's the nature of the beast.

Mine has 130,000 on it and it doesn't do that at all. It could be something as small as low tranny fluid. My last car did that when it was low.

It's a pack of shift solenoids. Nissan has a TSB on it. Had mine replaced under warranty.

Also a good idea to check ATF level... although getting an accurate reading on fluid levels in our cars is next to impossible with their damn dip sticks.

what would that cost - is it a big job or something small - and cheap -
when i got the car it was leaking tranny fluild - just a lil bit from the pan gasket - so i bought a new gasket cleaned the magnet and all and put it back up - and filled it - but that slippage between gears problem was there before i did that so....

any help here would totally help -
the other day i was flooring it and it would only go like 45mph - motor and everything is good - just the dam tranny...
