i30 transmission question. vlsd optional?
hey i was looking for a flywheel for my car (stock)...and in my state, this one yard lists a flywheel off an i30...so i was like...oh awesome...wonder if they have the vlsd tranny also...its a 96 i30....they are like yea we got both...we'll sell both for 700..so im like oh sick ****ing score...then they are like 'yours is the open diff right, this one isnt locking. so i go to car-part.com again. and sure enough...in 96 and 97, it lists it as '5 speed non-locking and locking' and then in 98 it lists it as '5 speed locking' . so i was wondering if its a shot to go down and check this out and hope they marked it wrong.

well yes that was part of it...the other part was if you knew if all i30s came with an lsd. because as far as i know they did.

I do not believe that all I30 manual transmissions were automatically VLSD... I think I30tMikeD told me this once. If it's nearby then go check it out, or if it isn't, have an .org member go check it out for you.
