yeah, so after talking with the parents, they feel that 1000 bux into the car right now wouldnt be wise and they would rather see it invested in a new car with my siavings, so yeah, kinda sad and glad at the same time.

I chose Infiniti I35 over a bimmer and a benz.

The bottom line is, if you get one of those, make sure you have cash saved up for repairs.

Dude, why don't you see how much they'll give you for trade in (which will be like 2500 if your lucky) and try to sell it yourself, sell it on the org. If your going to a dealership you should expect to drop some money, even if its a Kia. i'm not convinced you actually should get rid of it

Hmm, $30k to spend on another car...I'd be looking at some other options.

- C6 Corvette
- e46 M3
- Hell, even a LS2 GTO (though substantially less than $30k)
- And if you simply want something dead-reliable, quick, with some luxury...IS350

I still think G35/G37 is a good option, but you already passed on those.

i have three months to decide what car to get, i will be test driving a **** ton of cars when i get back to the drty jrz. I will be test driving the g35 again, i did drive the x version as a loaners once, the mercedes c350, sl350, and other that catch my eye.

I am pretty much sticking to foreign cars, something thats 6 cylinders. American cars are only good to me right now if they are a truck or a sports car. Honda is out because im anti honda, i know they are good cars and they last forever, but i am not a honda person.

My car need about 1000 bux in work but you know what, i have already but several thousand in over the past couple of years, that probably adds up to half of what i paid for it. Thats why i want to trade it in, and i ant to upgrade from where i am at now, hence the mercedes thing, mmm mercedes. They are picky and hard to mod as tey are engineered so that it can be self healing at times, nissans arent so much, so thats why a G may be good. Much time i have to think

g37 sport manual!!! that car feels soo good but but it is also over 30g so....i say if you can find a good m3 in that price thats best. but a merc doesnt sound all that bad neither tho stay away from the new c class and get a 3 series. if you are lucky you might find a 335i which is NAAAAIIICEEE!

i test drove a 2005 g35, which is pretty much in my price range, and tbh, i wasnt all that impressed after i drove the new nissan altima coupe right after. Hands down, the altima coupe was a great ride. The g35 felt a ****ton heavier. Plus the guys at the nissan dealer are always nicer then the douches at infiniti.

Go drive a new Cadillac CTS. It will make you think about American cars differently.

american cars suck in quality compared to that of japanese and german counterparts. American cars are finally getting better because foreign cars have been kicking their asses for so long, i am still a fan of jap engineering. I am a fan of the american muscle, but not as my daily driver (step in jap car)

Certainly the case in the past, not necessarily the case these days.

The American automakers have really improved their line-up, well, at least GM has.

What do they do differently on a Cadillac that they don't do on any other GM product?

At the moment I own a 2002 Grand Prix, 1996 I30, 1995 Maxima and 2000 Odyssey. Of all 4 cars I've put the least miles on the Grand Prix but have had more problems that the other 3 cars combined. And the GP only has 55k miles on it! I30 94k, Maxima 164k, Odyssey 78k.
Turns out that the problems I have had are SO common on GM products that every model GM product with a V6 in it has the same problems--and some worse.

When it comes to engineering I would say Honda and Nissan/Infiniti have GM beat hands down. I've never been thrilled with any of the Chrysler products I've owned and Ford? Ford is just another way to spell Crap.

Uh, NO! GM has NOT improved their line-up. They just got better at hoodwinking people.

to the OP: How much are you trying to get for your car?

the ford fusion is nice and is practically carrying ford at the moment. That car feels soldic when u ride in it, it doesnt rattle, and it does look or feel like cheap plastic. Fords issues is that its trucks are built on car frame and not truck. Chevy has all their trucks built on truck frames which make them hold up better. Overall, american cars have come a long long way, but by no means, are escalades, and any of the high priced american cars worth the money. 40k for an avalance? **** THAT. 80g's for the caddilace sports coupe, **** THAT, they may look nice, but not worth the money.

As i may have said before, asians take american models and make them better, they take a ford fiesta and give birth to the maxima. They take the explorer and turn it into a fx/murano, they take the f150 and give birth to the mighty titan and tundra. American cars however do not better the asians but make more ****. Like wtf, the answers aredesined half a world away and available at the designers doorsteps yet they fail to take advantage of the prengineered cars and trucks at hand. In a way its very stupid, but as an american, i will say that our country tends to be cocky and be full of pride and unable to always admit we suck at something, military excluded cause we seem to have fine engineering in that department, now lets apply that to the damned american car industry.

none the less, if the american car companies hope to survive they will adjust their manufacturing and designing ways and cater to public wants and needs or die off. There have been way to many layoffs as is over the years.
