6th gen "BBK" installed!

Stopped to see Tesh @ Tilden in Queens to have my 6th gen "BBK" installed.

First a look at the trunk of all materials:

6th gen calipers painted silver and cleared by me
used Axxis Metal Masters pads
Rotorpros 6th gen slotted rotors front and rear with hubs painted gunmetal
Valvoline Synpower DOT3/4 brake fluid

The shop:

8218 Rockaway Blvd
Ozone Park, NY 11416

12.6" slotted rotors:

Everything bolted up:

For those wondering, regular I35 wheels which are 17x7 40mm have PLENTY of clearance. At least 1 cm from caliper to spoke, and 2cm from caliper to wheel barrel.

First impressions? Pedal feel is the same, but as soon as I press on them they grab like whoa! Rears will be done later as I have to swap the rotors and paint the calipers, all of which have to wait because on the way home I experienced my FIRST SES!!??? Car was a bit sluggish on way home so I think my MAF is gone....but will have to wait for the code to be read.

This will be my second to last mod on the I35 as I've already kept it past one year of original intent. Next up are 18 wheels and then I'm done!

OT during the summer I also had my trunk and front doors sound deadened. 2 layers of Raam BXT followed up with a layer of eDead Teklite. no pics of the doors but trunk below:

It looks good. But most important, it stops better. I was planning on that same setup but was concerned about the extra weight. Can you feel a difference in acceleration?

Took a drive this morning to get my SES checked, P0455 = EVAP large leak aka damn gas station **** overfilled my gas tank and it splashed into the EVAP canister. Thankfully it's off now and car running like normal again.

So now I can speak with confidence that this BBK was worth the money! Imagine the same pedal feel but 30% stronger bite, obv harder you press harder it bites. And no difference in acceleration IMO...

Cost breakdown for those interested:

used 6th gen calipers + pads $115 shipped from org member
Rotorpros.com front and rear rotors $220 shipped
installation + brake bleed = $150 (usually $100-120 but since I already drove to Qns from NJ I said screw it)
-$100 from selling my old Brembo blanks, calipers, and Hawk HPS pads the same night to another org member

Total: $385

Nice thanks for sharing the info. i have been holding off installing my SE-R front brakes since my OEM were done by Infiniti when I bought the car. My biggest worry was the weight of the larger rotor since i don't really feel like dropping 500 on light weight rotors.

The best part is that after 3 years and 50-60k miles I have yet to warp a rotor or replace a front brake component. Something I definitely couldn't say before I upgraded.

Though, personally, I will say that I believe that I can feel the added weight, at least in the way the suspension rebounds.
