Trunk floor...
Here's an odd question.
The i30 I now drive once belonged to my mother who bought it new.
One thing I've always noticed and thought was odd is that the trunk floor is nothing but carpet and spare tire -- isn't there a rigid board that should go across the floor over the tire to create some sort of "floor?"
This car never had one, and I remember wanting to ask the dealer about it but never did, now 9 years after the fact it's kind of late.
Any ideas?

I purchased both my Maxima and I30 from the original owners, and neither came with the board. I swear I've seen it before as a dealer option, possibly as a 2 piece.
I ended up just tracing the carpet on a piece of MDF thin sheet.

There is a tough plastic material called "Sintra" that I have used in the past to make interior door and body panels for my offroad truck. I think this would work perfectly. Its durable, light, and looks OEM.

i have a gxe and i have one, the car probably went throught atleast two other owners before me. but i think im going to buy some plywood or something stonger than what the floor board is so it wont cave in when i have stuff in the trunk
