Homelink not working with LiftMaster Garage Door
I have a '96 I30T and a Chamberlain LiftMaster FormulaOne Garage Door Opener. It is the Security+ Model, so I believe it has the rolling code.
I tried the HomeLink directions found on the www.homelink.com website. It seems most Infiniti owners need to follow the "Training in Canada" series of the programming of the HomeLink.
I tried the instructions that came with the car. That didn't work.

Any help?

The newer openers, I believe, all use a rolling code, and the older transmitters, like the one in your 96 and the one in my own 97 I30, aren't compatible, since they can only send out a single, static code. I've read somewhere on here that the HomeLink was changed on the 98 I30, and it may work, so you may be able to change the transmitter with a newer one to make it work, but there's no programming the older transmitter to make it work, since it can't send out the rolling code that newer openers need.

If you have the Security+ logo on your LiftMaster opener, then it has rolling code.
Darn, that sucks. Would be nice if my Homelink worked, so I don't have to buy another opener.

Speaking of the homelink system, does anyone know where the antenna is for it? Is it just right there in the module? I get horrible reception with mine and I have to flip the visor over towards the windshield in order to make it work. This is for an I35 btw....

the homelink thing itself in the visor only has power and ground wires going to it, so the transmitter is built into the unit itself. I've got a 97 i30t and it won't open my garage door either. :-(

Most garage door opener units have the rolling code feature. Too bad the HomeLink brand doesn't have a retrofit for the older units. The only way to adapt the older HomeLink units is to purchase a non-rolling code disabler. Cost is $70!
