has anyone tried to put this on their stock i30 trunk? supposedly you replace the trunk tail light and garnish with this and you'll have the cefiro trunk. i dont know much about cefiro conversions and i'm really considering on selling my 4th gen for a 1st gen i30, and if this is a straight bolt on or the actual conversion for the trunk then i have more reason to buy an i30 lol...

Do you mind having 2 locations for the license plate? Because thats what you'd end up with....unless you got the rear bumper along with it.

Its not a fake, Cefiros have the license plate mounted on the trunk and not the bumper like US I30s... sooo unless you get the Cefiro bumper you will have two license plate locations..

 

not fake, bolt on meaning no modifications needed. back when i had a maxima i was in contact with some malaysian/thai guys who have the piece. they never mentioned any mods to make it work.

i think this whas a thai only option. from what i understand they get a lot of luxury options for low-mid grade cars in lieu of flagship models.

 

All 97+ Cefiros have this style of rear end the 95-96 Cefiro looked exactly like the 96-97 I30 except where it said Infiniti on the center garnish the Cefiro had 'Cefiro' This is to the best of my knowledge, I was in Asia during those times Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and thats what I remember

there is a taillight difference on the 97+ Cefiros, the 3.0 Broughams have the red clear read tails and the rest of them have the red/clear lights.

The A33 Cefiros had way cooler features like rear massaging seats =p

when I have a chance I'll be doing a full conversion with the Cefiro bumper

 

thanks, i guess that was going to be my next question lol. but what about the license plate light, do you just extend the bumper wire to have it working on the garnish?...

as for the rear bumper, i know that i would have to get the matching rear bumper to avoid the 2 license plate locations. i dont think picking up a spare bumper from the junk yard and trying to modify it to cover the license plate "hole" can be really hard to do. nothing wrong with getting your hands dirty and some time
