LOST ALL KEYS TO CAR , PLEASE HELP !

Long story short, i drive an 2000 I30 and i lost my ONLY key at work yesterday. My girlfriend recently misplaced my extra key and aint bother to tell me.

So now my car is stuck in the parking lot and i dont have 5/600 bucks to get all the locks changed, so is there anyway i can get another key for my car thats cheaper?

dealer?

Don't know if it works for Infiniti / Nissan, but with some brands the dealer can make a new key from the VIN. You typically have to provide proof of ownership like a registration and personal id. AAA may be able to open the car for you if it is locked. Good luck.

Had similar experience with acura. You gonna have to tow it to infiniti dealership and they will make you key there. Might cost you close to $100 though plus towing.

Other way is to use pickalock service, but you won't know what you'll get. We tried them with acura and they were not able to make a key and on top of it messed up one lock.

I would recommend you first option. You can also call local infiniti dealership and check for price. Dont use infiniti towing as it will cost much more (probably).

The dealer can make new keys for you. You'll need to get it programmed too, my 2000 i30 has a microchip in the keys to prevent theft. Programming it is something like turn the ignition x many times or some procedure like that if remember correctly.

Good luck!

I know you're in a tough spot... but you gotta remember this site isn't perpetually monitored, sometimes it takes a few days for those with the info to log in and respond.

And that is why I have one original key. One copy in my wallet. 2 copies at home . your girlfriend. As Chris said, check your nearest dealer. Good luck

First, apply step 1 listed above

Step two, tow the car to a dealer and they will have it made for you (as everybody here has said). In Toronto they charge $150 for the key and $100 to program it (they generously cut it for no charge). I have a spare from ebay that I paid $12 for sitting around just in case my only key gets lost. I haven't gotten around to cutting it yet but in the event I lose my key I have the fob ($8 on ebay) to unlock it, then I can get it towed (free from CAA if I say its broken) to the dealer and pay the hundred bucks.

Anyways, you have no alternatives. Lesson learned I guess

Check with a locksmith. My buddy lost his key out of town to his FJ, locksmith charged 150 to cut and program a key.

yea most locksmiths can cut a key on the spot, think they just need proof you own it. Repo companies have this done all the time.

The dealer cuts for free...the problem is if you dont have a key then you need to buy one. Like I said, Toronto dealers charge $100 to program (whether its from ebay or them) and $150 to buy the key (in addition to the $100 program fee)

so i lost my car keys last month too! i was heading home and when i got to my office car park i could not find my keys any more. so i had to go back to the office and i was a little sceptical about the idea of calling a car key specialist but the dealer asked me £300 for that. so they came to me after two hrs. and i was just so amazed of the fact that they made me a brand new key in less than half an hour!!! my car was not damaged at all! i tried the key before paying them and it worked perfectly!
