Hi everyone I am newbie to this forum.... haha. Here are my two problems from my I30 2001.

My car has knocking sound comes from the right front wheel area.... its really annoying. Anyone has an idea what it is going on?? The sound came out since I replaced the front and rear engine mount.... coz the vibration of the engine was a bit too rough and due to the change of engine mount I discover this weird knocking sound. But anyways, is there idea what is going on? might it be the strut or sway bushings or ball joint? Or might it be the engine mount from the timing chain side(right side)?

I have gone to two shops already and they told me different things. The first one was telling to change my engine mount of right side. The other was telling me to change my right strut... has anyone have any ideas what is going on???

Beside this I got another knocking sound too, it sounds more like a knocking on the door, it happens whenever I put into D & R and slightly turn my steering wheel to right a bit (half a circle) the knocking sound just comes out and once if I switch into N or P. the knocking sound just goes away... has anyone have had this experience before? What might the thing be?

Sounds like a strut. From what I can hear? But, I'm no expert!

bad strut mount or maybe a broken spring?

Would it be sway bar bushing is worn? How to test if the strut mount is bad?

I'm thinking somebody messed up on installing the engine mounts. Since all of this arose after that happened... It seems to me as though you should go back and complain.

When I had a bad sway bar bushing, it squeaked. That sounds more like a strut.

get someone to turn the wheel back and forth while you listen and feel the strut tower. Also generally a strut mount will make a lot of noise on a rough / washboard road
