My 2000 infiniti i30t will not start. I have replaced both the positive and negative battery clamps, installed an optima yellow top battery and all i get when i turn the key is a click. It sounds like it is trying to put power to the starter because it makes an electrical noise and also from under the hood i hear something like pressure releasing. I need this car running. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also replaced both the positive and negative clamps that attach to the batyrty

 

Try having someone TAP on the starter with a hammer when you turn the key to start it. Sounds like what my starter did when it **** the bed.

 

Are you using a spare key? If so, that might be the chip is dead if not then its probably your starter is shot. I had the same thing.

 

That key suggestion is way off track in this situation. I'm betting that a replacement starter gets the car running.
