so im on my way home from school yesterday just washed the car the day before i come to a traffic circle see and opening and enter the flow of traffic as im about to leave the circle some ******* in a honda accord blows the yield sign trying to get around the circle before i pass him.....he didnt make and plows right into my passenger fender at about 25-30mph i was doing maybe 5-10mph. luckily im not at fault at all and his insurance will pay for everything. i also went to the hospital for whiplash and am still sore today. the anger that i have is unbelievable i just got the car in july and babied it and this ***** messed it all up.

Likely it is totalled. I would be surprised if it isn't. These cars aren't worth that much anymore. How many miles on it?

Ouch! Sorry man.. It looks to be toast!

The car looks very clean though! You would think that is worth alittle more when they give you the appraisal.

yeah it's probably totalled. HOWEVER, with that low mileage, it would totally (no pun) be worth it to buy it back and get it repaired yourself.

You should check out a M35. Been looking at those lately. You can pick one up cheap 18-19k.

i love the m35 but im not gunna want to spend all the money i get on a car ill use like 10 of it then put the rest away since im about to transfer to coastal carolina and could use it for loans down the road. who knows maybe this was a blessing in disguise

I would definitely chime in and say as far as insurance is concerned it is totalled

Now you could fix it on the cheap if you know a decent bodyshop who can straighten out the rail and repair/replace the core support.

so still waiting on the damn accident report and since NYS is no fault and i didnt have any extreme severe injuries i cant make a claim for damages against him which sucks. hopefully i can get at least 6500 for the value then just take the rims/tires, one headlight and tail lights and part those out. the tires are brand new put on in october the one headlight is still perfectly fine and so are the tails. if anyone on here might want them send me a pm or ask on here i live in the hamptons on long island so shipping is very expensive and these are big items besides the lights so id rather pick-ups

Keep in mind you can file a tort regarding it which should cover your deductible on your Collision coverage. I'm glad I don't live in a no fault states, overpriced insurance and it's bullsh^t. Either way talk to your adjuster who is handling the collision portion of your claim and get the ball rolling on a tort.

Sorry to hear about your car, I love my I35 and glad to hear your ok.

Sad to see another one biting the dust. My deepest sympathies.

At least there's insurance.
I'd take Amerikaner83's advice and buy the car back.

It shouldn't be too bad to fix if your airbags haven't popped. Even then, it's an extra 3-400$ TOPS. In the US, you might even get away with 200$... You can probably get the whole thing fixed under 2000$, parts and labor included.

Otherwise, buy the car back and part it out on the forum! People are always looking for X part. I myself need driver and passenger TAN airbags *wink wink*

Either option is definitely worth it if your car was clean. Even a dirty ****box totaled infiniti will bring you some value back. The metal itself is 2-300$!

cheers

so still no news about the car. the police report finally came in on monday and his insurance adjuster should be looking at it within the next couple of days. now they say theyre figuring our who was liable for the accident (the other guy) then theyll get back to me. iv made a few statments blah blah blah but his insurance is handling my car not mine since it was his fault also i didnt have collision on in being that im on my parents insurance and it wouldve been just another expensive fee. but now im getting ti on my next car no matter what. where i live my cars going for around $7000 private and over $8000 at a dealer so seeing by how clean mine was and low miles and all ther new stuff it has in it ill prob take the cash and give it to em im not a fan of getting a salvage title or taking all the time out to part a car out with school and work going on. if they let me buy back the headlight, tail lights rims and tires ill deff do that and sell those on here. but thanks for all the good wishes ill kep you guys updated

got a little further now in thie whole **** show of a process. his insurance is accepting 100% liability and the adjuster should check my car out soon. and @thebaker its alot more than 2000 in damage closer to at least 6 since the axle is slightly bent upward on the damaged side and i need all new panels on the front end plus labor

Ouch. Re-looked at the pics. It looks a bit rougher than my accident. My fenders were barely affected (bent ever so slightly on one side it seems). Yours is destroyed

Good thing you're getting $ for it though.
Try to part out whatever you can. See if they'll sell you the car back for ~500$. As I said, you'll get back half of that in scrap metal alone. The rest can easily be parted out. Find someone to take your engine/transmission and you're golden.

Good luck to you and sorry for your loss.

Seen a few nice ones on Florida craigslist. After Sandy I'd be leery of anything used in the Northeast. Just my .02 and working in insurance claims.

This one isn't too far away. A few knicks in paint.

Expect an offer of 6k or less.

The rep agreed with you because he couldn't do comparisons until he saw your car... Prepare for the lowball and be ready to defend your value again, when he has comps on Monday.

ehh even i know my car wasnt worth THAT much haha and i knew there was only about $1000 in negotiating room i had with them so what i did was say i want the value of my car plus all the registration fees and again reminded them this wasnt my fault and that its their client and if it wasnt for him that i wouldnt be having that conversation with him right now. that seemed to work pretty well. 7500 is the goal

I never did ask, the insurance company is providing a rental car right? Under your states loss of use laws they are required to provide one from the day your car is no longer driveable to when the repairs have been completed. So since this happened on 3-14 I'm assuming they're providing one since then. The only trouble is when your car isn't driveable and the other carrier hasn't determined liability yet. Then you end up paying out of pocket until they take over the bill. I wish you luck in getting back to normal with your car.

@i35guy yes they provide one but the way they do it is if the car is totaled they only provide it for 2 days if its fixeable they pay for it for as long as it takes for the repairs in my case the car was totaled so i didnt see much of a point to get a rental for just two days since we have an extra car for me to use for the time being

well thats all folks! turns out they didnt budge a bit at all it blows. the way they value your car is using the ccc mthod which whatever you think your car is worth knock off 2g and thats what insurance will give you otherwise you take them to court. i could do that and most likely win but that takes lots of time which i dont have since i need/want my own car again its been a rough month im not used to having people pass me on the highway haha 6200 is what im getting which is only 200 less than what i paid for it back in july with 93000 miles on it which was a steal. iv actually found a car i intend to replace it with same year and color but tan interior :/ 108k on the clock which is a tad more than i wouldve liked but the car is cleaaaaaan and the interior is perfect like showroom and its got the winter package. he wants 5800 and is neg so maybe ill actually make some money on this whole nightmare!

Sorry you felt that you were getting more, then found out otherwise.

But this new ride looks like it'll be a win for you, so that's good
