Auto Headlights

Hi guys!
Since the 2001 I30 doesn't really have daytime running lights, I was just wondering if there was a way to wire the parking lights to the auto headlight position to run during the day and then normal light operation in the dark.
Thanks for the help!

No. You would have to get creative and use relays and things like that. Here is a link to a home made running light conversion. To use the parking lights would be a little less complex (I think).

Search ebay, amazon, local auto parts store for some led lights that you could install in the bumper opening or grille.

What bugs me about the auto on headlights of my I35 is the fact that the switch goes in this order.

Auto
Off
Parking Lights
Headlights

How I would like it is
Off
Parking
Headlights
Auto

The reason for this is the fact that if you have your headlights on auto and want to turn them on manually they turn off then back on. It seems like it would be putting strain on the ballasts.

So true, I hate it when I want to turn on my park lights and have to flip through the auto to get to it. Wish there was a way to change the order

My original post should have said Off/Auto/Parking/headlights-thats the way it is and I hate it. I don't want my headlights flickering on when I only need parking lights...

Thanks for the replies everyone!
I'm a bit sad, but then I realized that we have the switch for controlling the interior lights I can use to dim the bulbs which was my main concern... /facepalm

I forgot I've even posted this thread. I just bought my wife a 2011 Fusion and it has the set up for the headlights that I like.

Off
Parking
Headlights
Auto

This is genius!
