6 Speaker Non bose Factory Amp

Hi everyone,

I have a 1996 maxima/cefiro/i30 what ever the hell it is :P and i have replaced my rears and front woofers (haven't installed cross over and tweeter yet as the factory tweeter continued to work due to the amp?). So i have been looking and looking in the car, on various sites and on here and cannot find the location of the factory amp. I know its not in the Headunit as it has been changed, and i know it has an amp because when i didn't connect the amp remote wire i had no sound at all haha. Anyone with a remote idea of the location would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help

In the US, the Infiniti model only came with Bose. The Maxima model did not have Bose standard, but it was optional.

Neither the standard system or the Bose had a separate amplifier back then. We didn't get a separate amplifier until the 2000 models here in the US. I looked at the wiring diagram for a 1996 Infiniti and it does not show a separate amplifier, just like our Maximas.

I wonder if someone replaced the original system.

Here is a link to the schematic, block diagram is on page 107.
