Replaced Spark Plugs Today. Have a few questions regarding hoses and clips

Hello All,

So I spent good chunk of the day replacing the spark plugs in the I35 I just bought. Good thing I did as it seemed to have the original plugs:

In the process, I found one of the vacuum hoses to be busted on one end. It is the one off the back upper part of the intake. See here:

I went to a local autozone and they didnt have a hose with the inner diameter, so I bought a special tape that is used to fix hoses and withstand up to 700psi. Pretty interesting stuff. Anyways, any clue where to buy this hose or what I should look for? I tried googling "2004 Infiniti i35 vacuum hose 11/32" but didnt find anything.

Next, I broke a few of the clips on the connectors for the coil packs. I barely squeezed them and they broke easily. Unfortunately it is the ones in the front which don't look easy to replace like the back ones. I was worried about them staying put so I zipped tied them (so redneck..).

Any possible issues you see with this? Or any other way to get them to stay put?

Lastly, I found a random hose that was not hooked up to anything and I am 90% sure I didnt disconnect it while doing the spark plug job. I looked all around where it might connect and found nothing. Here are a few pics:

General Location:

The hose:

What it is connected to:

Any clue what this is??

Mine appears to be coming from my automatic transmission. Maybe a pressure test port?

I think mine is too. So I guess it is not supposed to be hooked up anywhere permanently. That is good.

The hose on the tranny is a breather hose. There needs to be an air hole on top of the tranny. The hose just moves the opening high enough it doesn't get submerged if you drive through deep water.

That hose off the intake should go to the brake booster. You'll need to get it from the dealer. It has a one-way valve built in.

That may be the case but I would be driving in water as high in my engine compartment as 2 in. Below the top of my stock air box for what you said to be true. The motor would basically be totally submerged.

And water would have to be as high as the top of my transmission without this "breather" hose for the water to infiltrate the transmission which is as if my car was in water deep enough to be almost halfway up on the doors. I have a little bit of a hard time buying that this hose is purely a snorkel but maybe it is...

There is no transmission breather hose in the FSM.

It's a breather hose. I have to swap it onto the new tranny anytime I replace one. In Las Vegas, people try to drive through stuff like this all the time:

It is a transmission breather hose. It does not connect to anything else up top in the engine bay. Leave it as is.

Thanks everyone!

While we are on the topic of transmissions....does anyone know the size of the return line coming from the cooler back to the transmission? I want to install a magnafine filter.

did mine today as well. those hose clips are the biggest pain in the ***. I had all kinds of pliers and had a difficult time with them. I would try courtesy nissan for the vacuum hose.

Mine were also Original plugs at 144k miles. I found that my valve covers are leaking ojn both sides but I didn't get around to those today.

Yeah they are pain! I am glad I wont be doing it again on this car before I move on.

As for the vacuum hose, it is holding up well with the special sealing tape I bought. I am going to go with it for now.

I didnt find any oil in any of the spark plugs. I think that means that my seals are now leaking.

you would know if it was leaking, I pukleled out coil #5 and #2 and both were drenched. I am not sure whether to invest more in this car or move on. Its tough, I love the damn car, but it just might not be worth maintaining anymore.
