bypass bose sub

Okay I know there's a bunch of threads on this but I cant find any. I would like to add a 12 with its own amp. (Just want more bass nothing wrong with the stock components) Is this possible and what do I need in order to do this. Im more of a DIY person. So if you know I really appreciate it or know a thread that would help me . I have a 2000 i30 if that helps.

To disable the Bose sub, just unplug the connector that is on it.

You may want to tap into that connector to get signals for the new sub.

green/white stripe wire - sub on signal from head unit.
solid white wire - woofer audio + signal.
solid black wire - woofer audio - signal. Be careful on this wire. There are 2 solid black wires. One goes to chassis ground. The black wire you want is the one right next to the white + wire.

Is this just to add a sub or is it to connect an after market amp to power an aftermarket sub ? Either way thank you so much !!!

Get a pac converter. Bose runs 1.5 ohm. You do not want to tap into amplified signal.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAC-NISSAN-INFINITY-ADD-AMPLIFIER-INTEGRATION-INTERFACE-/250853752834?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a680c8002&vxp=mtr
Us this and all u have to do is unplug the sub. If you want you can use a cheaper pac converter and just run it off the signal line to the amp in the rear trunk. The link I pasted u have to remove the head unit and run rca from front to back. If you do a cheaper pac converter u will tap the rear amp and run rca from there to ur new amp. Let me know which way u go and I can give u the pin outs and wire color.

Do you know what sub and amp you are likely going to end up with?

If thats all your running, I would just get a pac converter in the rear and tap the rear amp line.
