Engine swap

I got a 2004 Infiniti i35 and I would like to know what year maxima engine will interchange, and how hard would it be?

02-03 maxima. its the same engine so it shouldnt be too hard.

Avoid the 02 and 03....you risk getting a lemon motor with oil consumptions issues. Get your 04 or later.

Thanks alot. I never heard that. I was just trying to save a few bucks, so I was told that the 02/03 was the same engine as my 04 Infiniti. Those were the only 2 motors I was told that would interchange with my car. And they are way cheaper than asking for an engine for an Infiniti, the parts too, but its the same engine, that's crazy.
